First of all, Hi, I'm totally new, and although I don't have a SC, I have a 1997 4.6L bird, and I'm in need of desperate help, and need someone near Knoxville/Oak Ridge, Tennessee to help me. (tccoa guys suggested asking here)....

I'm not a DIY expert, and I need to clean my MAF, and honestly, I'm not confident enough to try it myself...is there anyone from knoxville/Oak Ridge area who can help me do it? I'd be so thankful if any of you guys who' are good with this stuff can lend me a helping hand, or suggest how to find someone near my area.

Please let me know if anyone's interested in helping a fellow t-bird owner.

Thanks a lot in advance

Not sure if we have anybody, SC or not, up that way. Its not hard at all, you just have to take you time and be careful. Just take the intake tube off the MAF backside and the MAF off the airbox lid on the front side. Remove the wires plug from the top of the MAF and I think there's some bolt/screws that holds the MAF from moving around, remove them. Now get some Q-tips and rubbing alcohol and a small cup to pour the alcohol into. Take the Q-tip and saturate one end with the alcohol from the cup and ever so lightly rub it over the wires inside the MAF. You almost just want to lay it on the wire with the only pressure applied from the weight of the Q-tip. Use a new side of a Q-tip each time and like I said just take you time and don't apply a lot of pressure and you will do fine.

Any more questions, feel free to ask, we don't bite non-SC owners that hard. :p :D
