Supercharger gear oil

Ford wants $19.00 for 4 OZ of synthetic Supercharger oil. I'm thinking Mobile 1 90 weight gear oil will do the trick. Does anyone have any suggestions? Tom

Don't use synthetic gear oil. The gears in the SC turn faster than those in the transmission.

But here is a thread where it was all discussed. Personally I've picked up some GM fluid when I noticed it was low. When I realized I needed to replace the seal I bought a quart of BP2380 Turbine oil from a local airport. A quart for $10 beats 4 oz for $7.

What SC Oil to Use Thread

WHAT TO USE

I THOUGHT THE FORD COMPANY SAID IF YOU COULDN,T GET THE OIL................... IT WAS OK TO USE 0-30 MOBIL ONE.............FAST FREDDIE........   :D :D :D

Haven't heard of that. I guess I am just concerned that the guts of the SC spin at rates much higher than engines will spin at can deal with very high temperatures.

So I just don't know if regular automotive oil would be the best choice, of all the choices that are available.
