I just bought this car. supercoupes are new to me. the brake pedal is really hard to push and it doesent hardley stop the car any ideas? The idle is really high also about 1750 to 2000 what should the idle be at? I read on another thread about a high idle and they said to replace the IAC. what is the IAC?

iac

rpm should be in the neighborhood of around 750. iac is the idle air control module that is mounted on the throttle body. there is a rubber gromet or plug that covers a hole that has an adjustment screw under it.

If youre idleing that high the IAC is gone.

EDIT: Dont mess with that idle adjustment under the plug. Your IAC is bad, just replace it and everything will be fine.
Dont know about your brakes. Thats a different problem not related.

The brake problem sounds like either brake pads that are non existant, master cylinder has junk in it, or capliper piston(s) are frozen.
