Damn!!!!!! That's .5 off my time. I've got to go on a diet, my car does too.

Where to get ....

Go to most truck stops, they have a scale that is on the $$. You will have to pay something to get the weight, but you will have it. You can also get it at the local drag strip, or try the feed store if you are a country dweller... If you look around you can find scales, start calling the local "long haul" truck people, they can always turn you on to a scale.... As for some of my stuff, that big block 35th hits the scale at 3450... and the 35th daily driver is 3520....go think on that one......Rich

rglenn: If that number is from the sticker in the door jam, it is not the weight of your car, its the max allowable weight if you were to pack it full of people, luggage, etc. An actual unloaded weight of nearly 5000 would be huge.

At most truck stops it cost $7.00 to $7.50 to get a weigh ticket.

You just drive up on the scale.put the front of your car on front
section of the scale. You will see steel strip were the differrent
section of the scale are to weigh differrent axles.

Just make sure you have the front on one section an the rear wheels on
a differrent section.

Then get out of the car.Walk over the a speaker
that will be on the driver side of the scale.Push the button and
when they answer. Tell them you want to weigh your car.

Then step back and stand on a third section of the scale, while you are
being weighed.Over the speeker they will tell you are done.

Then drive up to the building.and go to the fuel desk, and get you
weigh ticket.

I f you put the front axle on one section, the rear axle
on the next section of the scale, and the stand on the third section of the
scale. You will get a weight of the front end,the back end, your weight,
and a total weight.

For $7.00.Make sure the scales have been swept clean.KAT brand
scales are best to use.
