Does any one know what gen 1, 2, and 3 SHOs run in the quarter? ive heard the fastest five speeds are about 15.5 stock.
what would you guys guess a 92 five speed Super Coupe would be running with this combo. hookes mid length headers, 2.5 inch downpipes with high flow cats,a 2.5 inch to 3 to 2.5 SCP cat-back system, 5% overdrive, no air scilencer with k&n panel, 3.08 gears 38# injectors, 73 Mass air, and a 190 lph fuel pump. this is a little below 2500 bucks and i was hoping for mid-high 14s. i would go 3.73s but i want really good gas milage and ive head 3.08s are better for modded engines wich i plan on doing later. will this get me mid to high 14s? thanks

Look into the Lone Star SHO club forum. Don French is the moderator. I have his email if you want it. They are an active bunch that DRIVE their cars at various events around TX. Now look some are turdo, some SC, down to the stock V6. These guys modify like we do.

go with 3.27 insted of the 3.08. That's not much of a up grade from 2.73. I had 3.31 in my 95 auto,I put 3.73 in. My rpm wasn't that much high. Only 200 to 300 more than stock. If I could do it all over again, I would put 4.10 or 4.11 what ever it is!Gears make a big difference, when you change them over. So if you going to do it, do it right. If you are looking for good gas milage, this in not the car to be trying to do that with.maybe go with 3.55 that would be a lot of FUN!!!!!!!!what ever you do, don't put 3.08. It's just to close to the 2.73.

Might look in the Gulf States forum under the Fun Run and see some HP and Torque results of a couple of SC SHOs. One waxed a Firbird with a GN engine.

For the answer to your first question, look here...........
http://www.car-stats.com/stats/search/chooseyear.aspx
Just like the SC's they need to be properly tuned to run right. And just like SC's they're not easy to do routine maintance on, and a LOT of them don't get it. Hope this helps.

There are two SC SHOs here in Texas.
We are both around 400hp and 310 torque to the wheels.
Texan Tony has run a 13.4/114 I believe. Mine hasn't been to the track since new motor went in.
Boost is good. Nitto Drags on the fronts to "try" and keep them planted.

92redsc: I wouldn't put too much faith in car-stats.com or the results posted there. I looked at the various times list and don't agree with a lot of them.
FWIW, these are the generally accepted times for most stock SHOs:
Gen 1 MTX: high 14's
Gen 2 MTX: high 14's to low 15's
Gen 2 ATX: low to mid 15's
Gen 3 ATX: low to high 15's
All of the above times are with good drivers, of course. :)
Gen 1's (89-91) were only equipped with a 5-speed and are generally the fastest. The '92 was the first year of the Gen 2s and are equally debated to be faster than the '89s. Gen 3's were ATX only and can vary widly from high 15-passes all the way to factory freaks running high 14's.
Exceptions to the above rules are some of the more noted factory freaks in the SHO community. Ryan Pasch (president of the SHOCAGO club in Chicago, IL) ran a 14.5 at US-41 and a 15 flat at Lapeer in his bone-stock, factory freak '94 MTX. It also dynoed a healthy 186hp to the wheels earlier this year (got the video somewhere). Ian Macoomb of Canada ran a 15 flat in his bone-stock Gen 3 SHO. There are several others, but I won't name them all.
If you have any more questions as to what SHOs can do, have a look at the videos on this page: ;)

ATX SHOs were not too hot. Either V6 or V8. It put out some decent power but needed a manual tranny. V8 SHOs could run mid 15s with crazy practice usually ive read high 15s low 16s. The V6 MTX is the way to go if you are into that kinda thing

As an ATX SHO owner myself, 92red, I'd say don't listen to superchargedv6. ;)
In all seriousness, v6 is right. Most bone-stock Gen 2 automatics aren't as fast as their stock manual counterparts, although there are a few factory freaks out there. If anyone doubts what a near-stock Gen 2 automatic can do, then you're more than welcome to take a ride with me in my virtually stock (and EEC-tuner tuned) Gen 2 ATX.
As for yur questions, 92, you can visit the SHOtimes site here (http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=40) for more information on the various generations. ATX is SHO-speak for the automatic transaxle and MTX is short for the 5-speed manual. Gen 1's ('89-'91) were 5-speed only, Gen 2's ('92-'95) were offered with the automatic in '93 and ended the 5-speed offering in '95. Gen 3's ('96-'99) were automatic only and came with the 3.4L V8.
Hope this info helps. Sorry for the initial lack of explanation. :o

Anyone want me to email this video clip of a SC/SHO whipping a GN engine T/A? I don't know how to link a video. Also these TX SHO guys have some hot N/A cars. They love to wax unsuspecting rivals. At a road race track they are even better.

Guys,
This site seems to be overlooking some turbo charged Mopar power called "Dodge Spirit R/T".
I recall the Spirit R/T spanking both the Taurus SHO and Lumina Z-24 with a 0-60 time of 5.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 14.5 seconds. Admittedly, our handling wasn't up to the SHO and the SHO took first place in the minds of the guys at Car & Driver. However, this article inspired me so much, that I later bought an R/T and then painted a picture of my car - on a "t" shirt- with the quote: "Unless you're driving a cruise missle or ZL-1, you'd better lay low if a Spirit R/T rolls alongside."
I would love to see one of the magazines/TV shows do an all American 80's and 90's "front drivers vs rear drivers" or "turbos vs V-8s" super car shoot out featuring (bone stock vehicles): Dodge Spirit R/T, Ford T bird Super Coupe (or Turbo Coupe), Buick Regal GNX (or GN), Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, Ford LTD LX, Ford SHO, Dodge CSX-VNT, Chevrolet Lumina Z-34, and Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS.
I think the Dodges would only have to worry about a GNX in the line up.

the Dodge Spirit R/Ts 0-60 time was In Between 5.8 and 6.8 not much lower than a 94/95 supercoupes. and the Spirits are a lot uglier. the spirits are running a 15.78 1/4 time which the 94/95 supercoupe are running about a 14.9.

Man beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Perhaps I think the SC is ugly. What is ugly but an opinion? Go back and read "Beauty and the Beast". In this case the Spirit RT may indeed be a beast as (AGAIN) Car & Driver published the 0-60 time as 5.8 seconds! Read "Beauty and the Beast" and "Car & Driver" 3/91, then visit the RT Mailing List (online) where you too can have a beast of a performer like the Spirit RT!
