Mike-

What does it take to change crank sensors??? Are they expensive? If thats that is wrong with the car, I might go try to get it. It is white (the color I have always wanted, and I think you must favor them as well! LOL)

Please let me know, and maybe I will have one to drive to the next meeting, and possibly KC!!

You coming to KC Aaron? I'm planning to also. Reserving my hotel room tomorrow, or atleast going to try. Not sure if they will let an 18 year old do that. hehe

Aaron,

From what I understand, the crank sensor is kind of a bitch to replace. The cam sensor is super simple.

Cam sensors cost around $35 and crank around $55, give or take, depending where you buy them.

What symptom is it the car has?

Dale-

The car I am looking at does not start. The owner said he was driving down a residential street, and it just quit running. Ever since, it cranks over really fast, but wont start. Mike thought that it was the crank sensor causing the problem. I am open to any input. I am just afraid to buy something that needs tons of $$ stuck into it.

I would have to assume one of 3 things: cam sensor, crank sensor, or dis. Either way, not tons of money, even if you replace all 3, which might not be a bad idea anyway.

What kind of asking price on it? What year is it?

It is an 89 White SC. Has had gaskets replaced along with new 02 sensors, tires ect. He is asking $1500, but I am going to see what I can get it for. I have several pics of the car, and it looks good overall.
