How hard is it to replace the seals on the halfshaft where it meets the differential? i have a leak coming from that area and i think it's a seal.

Got to pull the half shaft. To do that I would recommend removing the knuckle and half shaft as an assembly. Then you pop out the old seal and tap in a new one and reassemble the whole mess.

So you remove the wheel.
Remove the brake caliper (no need to unhook brake line just hang it out of the way.
Disconnect the ABS Sensor and hang out of the way (just the bolt holding the sensor bracket to the diff.)
Undo the three bolts holding in the knuckle.
While supporting the weight of the assembly use a large screw driver or pry and pop out the halfshaft from the diff. (should buy a new circlip for the end of the halfshaft.)
Pull the seal and reinstall it all in order.

Thanks for the info Duffy. Remember the white cougar from the Ohio picnic? She's fallin apart on me!

Yes I remember....but you have to remember that your car is going on 14 years old. So regardless of the condition of the body....some repair is to be expected.
