Hi gang!

Next Wednesday night, October 8th, Discovery Channel’s Monster Garage is coming to the Dock's Drive-In Theater. The famous Jesse James himself will be onhand for an exclusive screening of an all-new Monster Garage episode. They're giving away lots of stuff, including posters, t-shirts and the like, and one person will go home with a fully loaded Mac tool set(*List of tools* (http://www.exn.ca/monstergarage/prize.asp)), just like the ones awarded each week on Monster Garage.

If we want to go to this, we need to RSVP ASAP at Monster Garage (http://www.exn.ca/monstergarage/).

Please indicate whether you're interested in going to this here in this thread. Personally, I'm working at shifting my schedule so that I can go to this regardless.

Best regards,

Sean

Sounds like a great idea Sean, I'm going to stick this to the top for a few days.

Just as long as they don't have their way with a Super Coupe at this event !! :p

Thanks, Ed.

Actually, a guy at work was telling me today that these guys have a great sense of humour! In one episode, they took a Police Interceptor Crown Vic and made it into a doughnut machine!!! :D

...I'll make sure we find parking just far enough away that our T-Birds will be safe. ;)

Cheers,

Sean

Sean, the police/donut cruiser was on last night, it was sick, 1000 spoke gold knock offs, with house of kolours 2 tone paint, but jesse's true work is his choppers, amazing the time he puts into them, ill be there thats for sure

Sounds like this could be fun, we should roll in as group!!!!

Any ideas as to what we can do for 'secure' parking???

I won't know until next week if I can make it. I have a lot to do before the track day, so this time may be valuable. Also, I'd be a little worried about the police activity around this event, trying to prey on everyone who attends.

Great idea though!

Well, I e-mailed to RSVP, guessing at 6 - 8 people, and got back this automated reply :

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for signing up! We're really looking forward to
Jesse's visit and our Monster Event at The Docks Drive-in Theater, October
8, 2003.

Here's what you need to know:

The Gates open at 4 p.m.

Entrance to The Docks on October 8, is on first come - first
served basis. Your email entry does not guarantee you a parking space in the
drive-in lot, so please arrive early. An overflow parking lot is available
and additional guests are welcome to join the event and view the exclusive
screening from inside tents on the site.

Have you got a souped-up car, specially tooled hot-rod, or
your own painstakingly put-together monster creation? Make sure you bring it
on down to The Docks. Jesse wants to see your handiwork.

Where you're going:
The Docks Drive-in Theater
Located on Cherry Street (just south of Polson St.)

From the Don Valley Parkway: Take the Lakeshore exit to the
lights, do not turn right or left on Lakeshore, at the lights go straight
and continue to the stop sign. Turn right on Commissioner St. Continue to
the next stop sign and turn left on Cherry St. Continue on Cherry St. to
just past Knob Hill Farms, look for the gates to the Drive-in Theater.

From the Gardiner Expressway: Take the Gardiner to Jarvis
St., exit to Lakeshore Ave. Continue along Lakeshore for three sets of
lights. Turn right on Cherry St. to just past Knob Hill Farms, look for the
gates to the Drive-in Theater.

Map available from <http://www.thedocks.com/v2/contact.html>

See you Wednesday October 8!

So I'd suggest that individuals who are interested in going may wish to e-mail for themselves too. :)

 So did you RSVP for the group or are we are supposed to RSVP individually also? (dumb question?)

Turbo351 certainly qualifies as a painstakingly put together monster creation.

I sent an e-mail asking for space for 6 to 8 people ... but the reply that came back almost instantly was obviously automated. So I don't know if any of the organizers will actually read the e-mails. From their response, it sounds like first come, first served anyway. I think they're likely just trying to gauge interest in the event to get an idea what sort of numbers to expect.

So yes, you should RSVP yourself as well.

I sent in, got the same responce, so we will have to decide a place and time to meet, then head in together, who knows maybe we can get enough of a turnout jesse will notice and take our cars into consideration for the ultimate monster garage task.....

building the car right this time!

Did anyone read the wheels section of the Toronto Star today?
Big write up about Jesse James. Sounded like he had no idea why he was coming to T.O.:p

Guys,

I completely forgot about the World Cycling Championships which are running here in Hamilton all week. They're closing a slew of roads throughout the week in order to accomodate the race course. As luck would have it, my office is right in the thick of it. I have to adjust my schedule in order to make it in, typically coming in early and leaving late. This will result in me not being able to leave the office on Wednesday until 5:30 or 6:00 PM. ...So, I'm out for the Monster Garage screening.

However, I still think this would be a really cool get-together for the club, and I encourage all of you who can make it to RSVP and get out to the Docks Drive-In Theater on Wednesday afternoon!

Best regards,

Sean

Have fun!! And get Tons of pics!!

Last month I had the guys from Orange County Cycles stay at one of the hotels I manage-now have an 8X10 in my office, I was seated on one of their creations with the guys around me.

Wish I could come to Hamilton for the Monster Garage event!

Sorry guys, serious issues at work necessitates that I withdraw
from the meet. Saturday is also now looking to be a big question
mark.

Hmm ... looks like we don't have many people that can make it out to this event, including myself unfortunately ... I won't be able to make it out of the shop here tonight to make it down to T.O. in decent time.

So whoever ends up going, enjoy, and get some photos for us.
