OK, OK, this is getting boring, but wait till you here the latest. ;)
The tranny has been sorted out and the cooler installed. I went nuts yesterday fabricating a pair of backing plates for, and installed the Grand Prix chin spoiler. It seemed to run cooler, but today on the way back up though the pass, it was running up to the "M" again. Oh, and I replaced the accumulator this morning - no more lights & brakes work great.
Let me give you all the facts of the situation and see what you think. (This is a test)
The coolant tank has been empty twice in the 1st 1,000 mi. There's no oil in the coolant and the oil is clean & clear.
The car seems to be fighting itself where cruising at hyway speeds, especially up hill.
In 95* ambient, the temps go to "R" & "M" on a steep hill with the air off and anything over 60mph.
Driving around town, the temp stays at/or below the "N".
Back when the "other guys" had been working on my car, a couple of pieces of the CAT had been blown out the exhaust.
The metal plate on the console, where the rocker switches are mounted is warm to the touch.
Driving up the pass today, I pulled off to gas up halfway up. The gas filler tube was VERY warm, and the coolant tank was almost to the very top of the tank.
The insides of the exhaust pipes are black.
The gas mileage is a lot less than I expected.
That's about it. The hot gas tank is the one that got me!
