Electric Radiator Fan question....

The electric radiator fan motor on my '92SC cooked itself this morning on my way to work. (Noticed it before any significant overheating or fire, so I'm thankful for that).
Can anyone give me some recommendations (manufacturer and/or part#) for the best aftermarket unit that might be available as an "off-the-shelf" replacement? I did the "search" deal, but didn't find any specific info.... I am hoping to find one that I can install this evening.

Thanks!!!

Larry, I remember someone said that they went to Autozone and got a electric fan for an Escort that is basically the same fan.

I could be mistaken. I dunno, I think one of the TBU guys did it, then again, I don't remember who it was!

[edit]If you can't find one, I have one in the 94 that I could send ya[/edit]

Fan Motor

I have a 94 5 spd - nobody could get a fan motor for it. But the fan motor from the 94-97 Lx 4.6 is the same.

I'm not positive about the 92's though.
I got mine from Nappa and it was a siemens motor.

Good luck

I'm not sure how it is for the earlier model years. I just had to replace mine on a 94 5-speed. I replaced the whole fan unit, which is ridiculously overpriced. I asked different parts stores if the part number was the same between the SC fan and the LX fan and they weren't the same. I ended up getting the unit at half the cost Ford charged. I decided to stick with the Motorcraft brand though.

After finding my low speed winding burnt & temporarily winding hi2lo, I went to Autozone & Nappa to quote an electric motor assembly. Both had the units available, Nappa was cheaper @ about 100 dollars. The part had to be ordered however.

Ford will only sell the hole fan shrowd a$$embly.. over 300 dollars.

http://www.RockAuto.com also has an assembly available.
