Ceramic brake pads, need info.

I'm going to install new pads on my bird in a couple of weeks. I keep hearing radio commercials about ceramic brake pads. They say no brake dust, but do they stop as well? Looking for info before I tackle this project.

There is dust, it's just white rather than black and there is much less of it.

I put Kevlar/Ceramic Pads on my Durango and found that while the dust is less, and the squeeling was eliminated, they don't last as long. I think (didn't keep good track like I should have) I got about 12k miles off a set of front pads.

Ceramic pads are used for a few reasons.

1. Less Dust

2. Quiet Stopping

3. Main reason, almost no heat fade.

Many high dollar sports cars like porsche use ceramic pads for race use because they can make many hard stops without heating up and fading off. So i wouldn't really bother with them unless you plan on racing or just want less dust.
