Got some cheap tires I can borrow? It's touch and go as to whether I'll be able to make it Saturday. I'm still not quite over this bronchitis, yet.

when will we find out what time and where in Chattanooga this meet will take place? the 30th is this Saturday...

SCme

Guys the local tv stations are saying partly cloudy with highs around mid 30's. 20ish percent chance of something. They are calling for a snowy mix for Sunday so we may want to wait. If we do want to go ahead and try I say around noon. The place for the meet is really easy to find.

Gents,

Its not looking very promising right now. Atlanta to get some bad stuff later today and tomorrow.

If its a no go for the 30th, how about a postponment to the long weekend in January 2001 at the same location. Of course if the weather surprises us with cold but clear skys and road conditions.

What's it look like for Chatt. Saturday? Are we go or no go? If we are gonna meet, we need to get the time and place out to everyone. If weather is going to be iffy, then it may be wise to postpone until later in the month. The weekend of the 13-15 (MLK weekend) would work for me. Might also allow a few more people to come, as some are probably out of town for the holidays.

Guys it looks like we may need to postpone this meet. Now its suppost to be low/mid 30's with some type of wet stuff in the morning time. Will watch the new on Friday noon to get a better update.

Stryford
12-29-2000, 04:08 PM
well, it looks like our meet for this Saturday will have to be postponed. it's snowing over here in Clarksville, TN, so i figure the roads won't clear up by tomorrow, and i really don't want to drive my SC and have some idiot that can't drive in the snow smack into my poor SC. damn! i was really looking forward to going to Chattanooga and meeting up with you guys. this would've been my first meet.

how about MLK weekend, like a couple of you suggested? say, January 13th, in Chattanooga? i really hope that weekend will be "weather friendly" for us.

I was looking forward to the meet too. Oh well I guess the MLK week might work out better anyways. I'm taking a Coop job in Dalton GA for the spring semester starting on the 8th of this month so a meet during that weekend might mean I'll only have about a half hour drive. the only drawback is that I cant bring my Cougar cause it will be back in Tuscaloosa.

A postponement would work for me as I'm still running a low grade fever of about 99+ and I need to go back to the doctor. 13th should be Ok.

Gents,

Just finish getting the Weather Cahnnel update and Chatta is actually getting some snow tonight and its cold cold. Its off for sure.

11-13 Jan 2001 works good assuming its clear or partly clody and 10 degrees warmer.

In the meantime think of what else we could do there and weather or not some of you are willing to stay more than a few hours up there and acutally overnight it. Any takers??

The SCCoSW will be having their Sin City meet in Vegas, and I can't make that one. However, I sure would not mind if the SCCoSE could upstage them a bit with a few antics of our own. What do ya say...ideas anyone? Of course Safety is first priority, but wildness is priority #2.

Looking forward to it. Its a long weekend with a Monday holiday so what else do you have to lose.

Happy New Year and Millenium!

Like I said I'll be a half hour or so away so Glenn I could I wont have that far to go and could drive back the next day if your interested in making this baby more than a day long. Drawback is that the XR7 is staying in Tuscaloosa so I wont have it there. Anyways if this meet is going down like I think it might we might give the Vegas meet a run for its money.

Gents,

This Saturday is creaping up on us. Need to know who will go for sure. I willing to drive 4 hours to Chatta, but need to have a good density of SCs to make it exciting. I'll hatch a plan for Chatta but I don't know the town. Help!!

Digital and Video Cameras are welcome so bring them please.

The SCCoSW is having a massive Vegas meet this weekend. Don't think we will match their show. As of today 33 SCs are expected in Vegas. Going to be a lot of sin in Sin City...

As far as I know, I should be able to make it Saturday. Hmmm...Gotta decide which car to drive!!

I know of a place to meet. Its an old Sam's Warehouse parking lot. I will get the exact exit numbers tomorrow and will post directions for people coming from Atlanta up 75 N, from Knoxville down 75 S, Birmingham via 59 N/24E and Nashville via 24 E. Tell me what type of place you want and type of things you guys want to do and I will find them.

If we did it this past weekend we could have gone to the World of Wheels. It was all right, not many Ford iron in it. There was a supercharged '96 S281 Saleen, a twin turbo early/mid '90's Vette and a '01 Vette with a 435 cube LS1 with some goodies. It was a Mallet Corvette, nice. Not sure if anyone like to watch 1/8 mile 10.5" outlaws cars race, but there was a nice '00 Z28. This thing was sharp. Not sure what was under the hood, but would guess about 500 cubes.

this sucks... i would've made this meet during the Dec 30th weekend, but i can't make this one, i think. my front brakes are shot (it's grinding into the discs real bad), and i don't have a lock nut key to get my rims off, and i won't get a replacement key until next week.

unless someone has some ideas? besides pounding a socket into the lock nut, that is.

SCme
01-09-2001, 12:19 PM
Steve, have you tried your local Ford Dealer? They have all the master lock keys there, and should let you borrow them to remove it. Mine did when I had my '91, but I had to do it on the lot, so take some tools. If not, then I have one with my '94 that you can use if you come down. I know the socket trick sucks, as I have seen it done before, but those lock keys are stupid anyways IMO. Not to many people steal stock rims.

Tim, you just give us the directions to this pllace and we'll meet there to begin with. The other thing is we need a time to be there. Lets just meet there first and then decide what to do when everybody gets there and we can pool our ideas togethor. Some good group shots would be at Lookout Mtn., The Choo Choo Hotel (a former Union Railroad Passenger Station), and Im sure Tim knows some others. Im definitely looking forward to the smoke show. Guys, lets give the Great Smokey Mountians a whole new meaning!!!!!!!
Jason
PS: Glenn, you still want to make this one two days? Im up for it!!!!

Gents,

Glad to see the quick responses. So I guess we Georgia folks will meet some where on I-75 just north of Atlanta or in Dalton if its along the way. What time and where. I am ready to roll out of Columbus at 0500 hours on Sunday or later depending on what time we want to meet in Chatta.

Tim, the old Sam's parking lot sounds like the ideal place for meeting and smokin'. If you know the area well, you the man. E-mail me at barter4@prodigy.net to work out some more details about Chatta.

Mike any suggestions on where to link up and time to do so?

Jason, the overnight thing is doable but lets play it by ear depending how many SCers show up. The more show up, the better chances or hanging out. I'll bring video tape of SCCoSW previous escapades to view.

Steve, if its the factory lock nuts, they are worthless. Just put a chisel to them and they come off or break off. Get those brakes fixed and nothing better to break in the new ones than a long road trip.

Do you think Ron W will show up?

Anyone have some whore out tires on rims that you don't mind smoking. I've know got some serious TOYOs 245/50/16 and I'll give it a shot for a smoke show but they cause all kinds of rear suspension hopping.

Dan if you don't mind bring the 91 SC radio you have.

Jeff Horn of the Georgia TCCoA chapter may bring his crew if we ask him, so I will unless anyone has major objections to that.

Other than that let's pray for weather like last weekend. It was awesomely cool and sunny.

SC Ya there.

Tim, what's the local weather forecast for that day?

Glenn--get the TCCoA folks in on this too!! The more birds the better!!!!

I've got a few worn out 225/60/16's, with just a little rubber begging to be burned off, but nothing to put them on. If any one has a couple extra rims...

I already have a commitment on the 91 radio...the guy says the check is on the way to me.

I'll be taking back roads untill I hit 75N at Cartersville. Dalton would be a good place to hook up, then we can caravan into Chatt. Jason--where's a good place right off the freeway to meet up and grab some grub? What time would be good??

Looks like I'll be driving the '94, as the rear brakes on the '91 are one hard stop away from being down the the metal (65K miles and original pads...go figure). Won't have time before this weekend to mess with them.

Ron

Guys I am going to write up some directions and post them sometime on Thursday or Friday. The place where we are going to meet first is real easy to get to. What I need is a head count of how many are coming. If you are for sure email me and let me know. If you are riding the fence email me and let me know. If you aren't then fine just stay at home and watch some more infomercials on the AB Rocker.
My email is sprcoupe@bellsouth.net The reason I need this is so we will not leave anyone that maybe slow in getting here. We are shooting to start rolling in around 11 am on Saturday morning. Right now the weather is low/mid 50's with some clouds. No rain on Saturday, but some is expected on Thursday night and Friday morning. Also Sunday has like a 30% change of something.

Are the TCCoA guys coming also? We may not have as many cars as the Sin City meet, but we will have some fun.

Well Dan Ive only been in Dalton a week now so Im not too familiar with the town as far as good restuarants are concerned. There is this one BBQ place a few miles down of Walnut Ave (exit 333) called Pardners that I went to the other day that was pretty good. However since it seems we are meeting in Chatt-town at 11, and its a half hour drive from Dalton, probably the only chance of eating anything is a late breakfast, and Im pretty sure that place I went to isnt open that early. I think Mike Puckett said he had been to Dalton before so perhaps he knows some good places to eat better than I do. Im living near the first exit north of Walnut (exit 336). If you guys got any ideas as far as that goes, give me a buzz at (706) 277-6076 and maybe we can hook something up.
Jason
PS: Is 11am the agreed meeting time?????????

Dan Lineback
01-12-2001, 03:08 AM
Jason: If we're gonna be in Chatt. at 11, then maybe we can meet up around 10am in Dalton, just at a fast food place there off the highway(, then make our way north. Who all will be coming up 75? The only ones that I have heard from that are coming are Glenn and Mike.

If any one else will be coming via 75 N let us know so we'll be expecting you.

Directions for SCCoSE meet in Chattanooga on Saturday, January 13, 2000. Meeting will begain around 11:00 AM EST

From Atlanta Area (I75 North)
Follow 75N up from Georgia into Tennessee till the 75/24 split. Take 75N towards Knoxville. This next part is important so read and remember. This will be a 4-lane interstate with the layout like this.
First Lane closest to 75 South, fast lane
Second Lane, lane to the right of fast lane
Third lane, to the right of second lane
And forth lane, to the right of third lane, slow lane

You guys will need to be in the SECOND LANE as this is the only lane that will all access to the right exit. The 3rd and 4th lanes are exit lanes for East Brainard Road only.
The exit you guys will take is for SR153 North. Being in the second lane it will be to the right. Because of the constriction that is taking place, the exit will be 1 lane for a coupe of seconds. When the right lane meets up with it again, get into the right lane and take the first exit. This will be Lee Highway. Go to the top of the ramp and turn right, get into the left lane and take the first left. This will be the place. I will park close to the entrance so you guy will know you are there.

From Nashville (I24 East)
Follow 24 East until the 24/75 split. Take 75 North and follow the Directions for 75 North.

From Birmingham (I59 North)
Follow 59 north until it meets with 24. Take 24 east until the 24/75 split. Then take 75 north and follow the directions for 75 north.

From Knoxville (I24 West)
Follow 24W towards Chattanooga. Take exit #4, which will be SR 153 North. Then take the first exit, this will be Lee Highway. Go to the top of the ramp and turn right, get into the left lane and take the first left. This will be the place where we will first meet. I will park close to the entrance so you guy will know you are there.

If you are coming up 75 North and go past a Mall on your right, you have gone too far.
If you are coming down 75 South and make it to the 75/24 split, you have gone too far.
If you are on SR153 North and go past the Airport exit, you have gone to far.

I will have my cell phone on to help with directions. The # is 802-5362
This is who I have coming as of 3:45 PM on Friday.

If I have missed anyone please email my at sprcoupe@bellsouth.net

I have a friend from work that wants me to call him on Saturday. He said to come up to Cleveland if you guys want to do any street racing. Does anyone know if the TCCoA of Georgia boys are coming?
The weather expected for Saturday is temps to be in mid 50's with some clouds late in the afternoon. There is to be no rain until Sunday afternoon. Looks like a great day for a meet.

Tim,

Got the directions and thanks for the detail once inot Chatta-town.

I am leaving 0700 and will link in NE side of Atlanta with Mike Puckett and others per his earlier instructions. Then we will link up in Dalton with Jason and Dan and bring it on up. Should be up there around 10:45 to 11 AM if we have no problems along the way.

Have heard a peep from the TCCoA folks, maybe some have read the SCCoSE BBS. Ron W wrote on here that he would maybe make it, and perhaps some other Tennesse folks will get motivated.

I'm coming up in the XB70 like for the November 2000 meet. The 95 Pearl is lock up for the winter in its Sacorphagus. Will bring it some other time.

You all bring video equipment. I'll get the still photos.

SC YA tomorrow.

Glenn
