Every Thanksgiving, the Daytona speedway has the largest car show/ swap meet in the southeast. It's called the "Turkey Run". I have gone , along with a few here, for the last few years, and it's HUGE.
I just found out that there are no post-1974 cars allowed in the judging area for the Thanksgiving event, although this isn't the case for the event that takes place at the same location in the spring...so if we ever wanted to go as a group/club, that would be the only way/time for us to get our cars in the judging area. That is in March.
However, this Thanksgiving weekend's show DOES allow anyone to enter their car ( any make and year ) into the FOR SALE area, and indeed there are tons of cars in that section every year. You could ostensibly "show" your car there, even if you didn't intend to sell it, you would just have to pretend you were.
There is usually a guy there with SC engines and trannys and other parts available.( Cox Auto Parts)

I know Thanksgiving weekend is a bad time for most to do anything other than family, but if anyone wants to come here, i'll put up as many as i can in my home. We always have a great time looking at the rods, the customs, antiques, Vipers, classics and almost ENDLESS swap meet stuff on the track infield. Seriously, it's an all day thing if you want to see even most of it. There are reportedly over 5000 cars .

Email me if interested. I will be going whether or not I enter the car in the "for sale " area. I have to find out some details on what they need to know to have a "club" there for the spring meet, as there are many different car clubs in attendance. It is a 4 day event, Thursday. Fri. Sat & Sun. Laters. Dan Holleran
