Hi, Tory.
I got new weatherstrips for my doors and trunk at Ford. They are still available as of 4 months ago. I don't recall them being outrageously expensive.
Hope this helps.
A great week all.

Which door weather striping are you looking for? I have bought most of it recently from the dealer and it is not cheap. Also the striping in some cases has been superceded by "other" part numbers and it may or may not be the same design as the original.

probably cheaper to get it off a car in the junkyard. just make sure it is good shape and then buy some of the weather stipping adhesive and have at it.

Ya I figgured it would be pretty expensive.
I need the main gasket that goes all the way around the door. I have been to some junk yards and I didn't find any that looked good.
What is left of mine my 3 year old thinks is a handle and pulls it everytime she gets in. :(

I got 2 new ones from the local dealshipship for 45.00 per side.
I've also got good used ones for 25.00.
In fact, i still have one good used one in my garage.

I would imagine JCWhitney makes weatherstripping for these cars.. as they do most.
I think mine might be worn as when I reglued it, there was a gap left in between where the two ends meet, at the bottom of door frame.
There are several protectants which I use that can protect the rubber seals from further deterioration. The first that comes to mind is 303 aerospace protectant. Just be sure not to use most of those store bought protectants, most if not all contain some quantity of petroleum products. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/
Hope that helps..

I have found over the years, that most of the aftermarket door and window rubbers are not very high quality and after some time they tend to shrink.
I had a 1948 Mercury Coupe (http://www.alistauto.com/mike/merc/index.html) that i bought aftermarket rubber for, and after about three years I ended up buying "Bob Drake" rubber for it. It's was brought to my attention that most of the Aftermarket stuff was made in Argentina and it's shrinks! In my case, the trunk rubber shrunk about 4". The door rubbers shrunk about 1.5"
Pay a little more and get some good ones. There are a lot of good ones still available in the salvage yards. Or you can get brand new ones from Ford. Remember, if you have to buy them twice, you paid up to twice as much for them!
