whats gap on spark plugs

i had a smog check done and did not pass the man told me it would probably be the spark plugs so does anyone know what is the gap on the spark plugs.

New double platinum Motorcraft or Autolites gapped to .054. If you have a lot of mods you can gap tighter like .047. But frankly I doubt your plugs are the problem if it's not missing or running crappy. Countless other things can be the cause, bad o2 sensors, egr stuck or bad hose, bad cats, the list goes on and on. Good luck, John
