Crank part #'s

Anybody anyone. I was thinking maybe the D was for duracast. I don't know.

The 6303 number is a forged crank number. I do not know what the other numbers mean. You have a forged crank in your hands.

I don't know much about the internals and all that. I looks liketwo pieces were put together cause there are some lines that were ground on the counter balance lobes But I don't know how they make em.

They don't have SC stamped in them kind wierd I have a set that are on the car now that have SC stamped on them and have seen others with SC stamed on them.ESSEX
 
Actually, 6303 just means crankshaft, it's the rest of the letters and numbers that determine exactly what it is. Unfortunately I can't tell you from the info. in the parts catalogue what type of crank you have, the stamping numbers aren't always shown.

E9SE 6090 D7A is the regular 89 - 93 SC head casting. The rest might be date codes or something.

'ESSEX' refers to the engine plant in southern Ontario near Windsor where the 3.8L motors are produced.
