Half shaft ?'s

I know the passenger side has a larger diameter shaft, but other than that are all SC half shafts from 89 - 95 created equal.

The wrecking yard guys are telling me they are different from 89/93 to 94/95; I thought they were the same.

My local parts store is telling me 75 bucks for a new one. But I want to be sure I get the beefier SC inboard cv-joint. Does anybody have part numbers for recent replacements SC replacements?

Any info. is much appreciated.

Traction control on the late models might account for the difference. But I can't be sure. Maybe how the shaft is retained in the open diff?

The early models had a different diameter shaft on the driver's side originally. all replacements appear to have the slightly smaller diameter shaft as the passenger side.


Anyone have specific info?

ARI part

I ended up with an ARI part (# 006-25094S). It was listed as the passenger side but it was the same smaller diameter as the drivers side. The cv joints looked to be the same as OEM though, so thats cool.

It was a pretty simple job; suprising for this car.
