my crank sensor is beening cranky.. lol, really it is, I cant figure out whats going on here. Last night I came home and tossed her into reverse and i somehow stalled it, havent stalled my car since i first got it, went to start just wouldnt start, got pissed off got out kicked the car a few times, got back in still wouldnt start. I then tried again and i layed right into the throttle and she started but i had to keep my gas almost full throttle just to keep the rpms up from killing the car.

Once i got it into my driveway i took my foot off the gas and it idled fine, took a bit to go down to idle but it did. So this morning I went out with the fear of it not starting and it started fine, got almost to work and it started doing the same crap (5 min drive..)

I have to goose the damn thing slowly to keep it running, if i just stomp on her she just cuts out power.. getting no upshift light either

I DONT GET IT, damn cars i swear i got the ultimate lemon of supercoupes

any ideas?

I'll give you $500 for the 'bird, then you can go buy your Honda and finally be happy...:D

Maybe it has something to do with the cold. My auto headlights don't work anymore since it started getting cold at night. But then again, what do I know?

heater control panel ....and A/c delete ....been getting cold as of late ...and i've noticed .. when I put it on floor/defrost ... my A/C compressor is kicking in and out ...so I wonder if maybe yours being deleted ..the computer still thinks it's there ......and is adjusting fuel/air for it ...I use the A/C more in the winter ..than any other time of the year..I love it's heat function ..2 minutes and heat ...but hard on the idle when it's cold ...the IAC does a lot of hunting with the load of the compressor kicking in and out and being stoned cold ...maybe time just to unplug the battery and let the ECC relearn again .....dave

well, I took your advice Dave and unplugged the battery last night for a few mins, then drove to brampton.. didnt beat on it at all.. even thou challenged i still didnt! ran perfectly fine.. then today i did it again and also used electronics cleaner on the dingus in my MAF, put it all together and went out for some cruising, and to take someone back up on a challenge.. she runs even better now, but i bet thats because of the cooler weather lol.

Hey matt lets go to the track now, ill whoop you again! 14.805 sec car now!:p

Ryan, was told to use this stuff over carb cleaner and other cleaners because it does not leave a residue when it drys, this residue could alter the readings of the incoming air because its dried to the filiments? is that the name??

Oh well Ill just stick to dingus, Dingus is a term i throw at something that I dont know what its called, many a dingus's around trust me.

I'll give you $600, BUT you have to ask Mary out.... - LOL!!!

There is an easy way to check if your crank sensor is, er, cranky.
When you're experiencing a problem starting the car look to see if the "UPSHIFT" light is on when you're cranking the motor. If it is the sensor is "cranky", or just shot completely. When Les and Kirk (bitch - mimimimimimi- J/K!) and I did the sensor in Les' car we used that as a guide. Unfortunatley we also found that the brand new sensor from CT was defective to begin with....after 4 hours of screwing around.

No problem, let's go, I've got my winter tires on now. It's like driving with skinnies! That's gotta help the wind resistance.
