I am not sure of pricing yet until I get an unofficial count. Post here in the thread.

Just post here if you are interested. I'll post a cost when we I get the number from Ryan.

Pending on price, I'm in. The thread said $250 CDN (around $190 US I think) and I should be able to come up with that. But I won't know for sure until I've got an idea on how much it will really cost.

-Andy "Melon"

11-23-2003, 06:20 PM
I think there 150 now not including the group purchase discount....not positive tho

11-23-2003, 06:34 PM

There was a thread on this before but I cant find it

11-23-2003, 08:40 PM
We're up to seven people. I will wait until Tuesday to e-mail Ryan again. That will be exactly one week. Let everyone else on the boards know about this GP!!

11-24-2003, 02:01 AM
I'd be in if it's cheaper than the $140 from SCP...

11-24-2003, 09:57 AM
I might be in depending on how big the savings are.

11-24-2003, 02:38 PM
As I said, I am making an unofficial list. Tomorrow I will e-mail Ryan again to see what we can do.

I am willing to work with JJanney threw emails. I'll talk with him and see what we can work out for all who are interested in them.

Thanks guys.

11-25-2003, 09:16 PM
For 10 people, Ryan is willing to knock off about 10% and give it to us for $125 a piece plus shipping to your door. That is for 10 people. All of you folks need to talk this GP up to some other SCCoA'ers so we can get a bit more taken off.

We need a concrete list now. All, who are in, please post again.

Thanks Ryan!

11-25-2003, 09:53 PM
Still in.

11-26-2003, 07:57 AM

I might be in on this...but only if I can re-sell mine to someone in Ontario for double the price. At least, that is what they all paid for them during the last "group purchase".   :(

Otherwise, I'm out like a bad promise!

11-30-2003, 10:23 PM
Please do not post in here if you do not have anything constructive to add. If you have past problems, take them up with Ryan or start another thread. This thread is for a group purchase at the stated price and discussion of that only.

12-02-2003, 06:20 AM
Sorry, I'm out. I did want to try it but bought a big speaker instead.

12-02-2003, 07:32 AM
Melon, Ryan said as soon as he recieved payment, he would ship the pulley. Shipping from Canada would take 7-10 days. Are you in? We need to know.

Being one of the SCCoO guys who originally bought one of the first production run SCI aluminum jackshaft pulleys, let me explain why the Spin Doctor posted what he did...

First, the person behind the Spin Doctor screen name, and Ryan Harris have some personal issues. This often times floods over into these forums. Knowing both these guys personally, I can see validity in a little bit of what each one feels. However, you guys don't need to be concerned about that.

Back when Ryan first developed these pulleys, they were offered only to SCCoO guys. Ryan said this was supposedly because he wanted to offer a part to his local guys first. Cool. He did. Now, we ended up shouldering the pre-production costs (set up, trials, etc.) and paid $250 CDN per pulley. In all fairness, Ryan was up front about the costs, and personally I didn't receive a part that I feel wasn't worth the $250 CDN.

However, it does sting a little that the same part I paid $250 CDN for less than a year ago is now being offered across the border for a little over half that price from the same source. Ryan did tell me at one point in the past that he would make right by us, by offering the people who originally paid $250 CDN a great deal in the future. As of yet, I haven't seen that deal, but it doesn't mean Ryan won't honour this. How were we to know the part would be offered later for a significantly lower price? I guess that's our tough luck.

For those of you who know me, you may be aware that Ryan worked closely with me in porting an early style stock M90, and intake and return plenums, etc. I will say that Ryan produces a quality product. I think you'll all be very happy with the jackshaft pulley.

...The long and short of it is, you guys are getting a great deal here! Take advantage of it. ...And if in a year the same part is being offered for about $65.00 USD, maybe then you'll know a little bit about how some of us feel.

Respectfully yours,

12-02-2003, 01:56 PM
Sean, I know all about this, and I have already talked to Ed N and Ryan about this. As I mentioned, this is not the thread to discuss these problems. This deals with this Group Purchase at this price. Thanks for the information, hopefully this discussion ends here.

12-02-2003, 02:38 PM
It's a non issue. The Magnum Plenum was $600. People bought it. Then a few months later it was $500.

You guys paid $192 to have it first. Now you can get it for $140 through SCP (cheaper now on gp). The price you pay to get stuff fresh from the mill.

12-02-2003, 03:35 PM
JJaney and Micah,

I'm cool with that. I understand that's just the way it goes. I posted here inspite of JJaney's invitation to take it offline because I wanted to reassure your current buyers that this is a great deal, and to encourage them to take advantage of it. ...That's all.

Good luck with the deal. Like I said previously, I know you'll love the pulleys!

BTW, Micah, your numbers are way off, because at the time I paid $250 CDN for that pulley, the exchange rate was way different than it is today!!! ;)

First off and foremost, thank you JJANEY for taking the time to organize this. The shipping & handling charges will be 15 USD per package, and they will be out in the mail the day after I recieve the payment. I accept PayPal. The email in my sig will be the access to the account for all of you.

If you are not on the list I will now honour the price of 125.

I have to thank all of you for showing an interest in my part(s). I really appreciate all the kind words some have taken the time to say. I hope to be able to offer more parts for our cars in the very near future.

12-02-2003, 09:57 PM
:) No prob. I e-mailed you Ryan.

12-02-2003, 10:55 PM
Do we just send money through paypal with the subject being about the pulley? Or is there an order form or something? Just wanna do it right, that's all. Letme know, thanks, alyn.

12-02-2003, 11:18 PM
I would assume that when you pay through Paypal, you list your name, the Group Purchase topic, and any other essential information you may want to give, i.e. shipping address, etc. I will let Ryan answer for himself though.

12-03-2003, 12:51 AM
Is this deal still on if so when will they be shipped

I am not sure if Ryan is still taking people, you have to e-mail him. The list was already finalized. But, you can still e-mail him.

Ryan A Harris
12-03-2003, 11:32 AM
No order form needed. If you can state that you are part of the group buy for a jackshaft pulley, that would all I need to know who you are. Could you list your real name along with your board name also, this will help sort out who is who for me. Also a return address would be great if you want me to ship you a pulley.

If you made JJANEY's deadline for the group buy, then yes you can still be on this price. With this sort of turn out for SCI's 1st group buy, I may try to do one down the road.

12-04-2003, 10:09 AM
Paid

I have not heard from Ryan in a few days. The last I knew, he had received payment from five people (this was about three days ago). I will e-mail him tonight to see if I can get you any information.

Any chance people can still jump in on this?? Money was a little tight right before Christmas, but I can afford one now if the $125+ship price is still good.
