Finished the "winter brake package" yesterday. I installed 2000 Mustang GT PBR dual piston calipers so I can put my stock 16 inch wheels and snow tires on for the winter. The rotors are stock sized 10.9 inch Tbird rotors. I had to grind the corner of the caliper slightly to clear the spindles, and the anchor bolts had to be ground 1/8" shorter to clear the rotors. Other than that, it's an easy bolt on for 93-up spindles. The passenger side caliper has to be ground to fit the brake line just like on the cobra calipers.
Pedal feel is much softer than the 13 inch cobra brakes. The pedal feels similar to the stock single piston Tbird calipers. I discussed this with Ed and he says it's because the cobra calipers use smaller pistons in the calipers. It takes a smaller volume of fluid to get the cobra calipers working. The cobra brakes start to work sooner with much less pedal effort. This is a decent and cheap upgrade for someone who wants the flexibility to still run smaller wheels. I will be swapping the 13 inch brakes back next year.
