This question is for the N/CAL (Freson to Sac. and Bay Area and North) ONLY!!!!
* How many members of N/Cal plan on going to any meets this year?
* Is there a need to keep the N/Cal Board in the SCCOA?
* Are you ( OR DO YOU ) still feel like a ACTIVE member of N/Cal??
It seems to me that the folks that plan a meet always take it in the teeth when no one shows up. This of course is after the fact that everyone says they will.
Meets are set up it least 30 days ahead. This is so everyone gets a chance to clear that day.
Please try answering the three question above. Also give your opion (Good or Bad ).
You want to flame me for asking these questions, please feel free. It least It will show that you still care what happens to N/Cal next........!!!!!!!!!
You will be allowed to Vent here on this thread, but keep it real, I will edit if it goes nasty!!

here's my answers
1) whenever I can
2) duh
3) As active as Michael Jackson in a junior high locker room!
I know I'm not the only one here with a very busy work schedule, and sometimes I'm just not able to be in town for events. But I think if we can get a few more people involved, then we should have a better average turn out.
One thing I'd suggest is we might reach more people if we had a regular monthly SCCoNC email newsletter. I think some people just forget to check the forum, but everyone reads their email. There's also many nor-cal people I've seen post on the main forums but haven't seen here. The newsletter could have updates on events, stuff of local interest, links to good threads, etc. It would just help to keep people involved. I can look into how we could set up something like that.

Rob,
2) DUH! Do I see a spark there...good for you!
News letter would'nt be bad. We got to do something to get going again.
A car club ( in my younger days ) was everyone meeting WITH there cars and showing off there ideas and modds going on cruzes. Now a days it just seems that the internet is the meeting place and to do some PC racing.
I do realize that a few of us are willing to meet up for a day on the road. It's the other folks on here we need to reach!

But as for meets cruise my heart is not there no more I am missing one key person for it to be fun but I wish you all the best in the future cruise meets

Most of us are very busy, some with families some without. When an event is planned I try my best to attend. But sometimes life tends to life all over you. (look at Rob Noth & his transmission). When something happens that prevents someone from showing, some people seem to take this personally or something. Some people in this club take things too seriously. A car club is supposed to be fun. When you are young it is a place to hang out. As we get older and have more responsibilities it can be used as an escape from the daily grind. When it stops being fun, I tend to fade away. There is just to much drama created by certain people. I am very sad that we lost Jim Sr. This club seemed to revolve around the Demmit's. I constantly watch these forums, if I see an event planned I will be there if I can.

I originally sat down here to give more than my two bits worth, but then I asked myself WHY. Nobody cares. You can have a monthly news letter, a calender of events for the whole year and the results are going to be the same, a whole lot of talk and little action.
Kurt, Derek, you're right, a club is about getting together, sharing common interests helping each other and having fun. That was the reason I joined up with this club. Yes I had fun and enjoyed the company of those who made the meets. Too bad there is a real lack motivation with the majority of this club.
Wendy,
Thanks for all your hard work putting together a web site for the club. It took a lot of initiative and dedication to make it happen. Keep up the good work, its appreciated by Sue and I.
Until something happens to turn this club around, I'm redirecting my interests elsewhere.

what i'am getting from all of this is "there seems to be too much attention giving to the people you don't show up". i enjoyed the bodega bay cruise and getting together with everyone. to me it doesn't really matter the size of the group. like the earlier posts said, the club should be fun. those who attend should enjoy getting together with how ever many show up. we all share the same interest for these cars and should enjoy getting together and sharing our common interest. i for one enjoyed driving up to mark's (even if i wasn't driving my sc) to pickup a badly needed part that mark had and talking sc's with him. he also told me about the time kurt drove up and helped him with his car. to me that is what a club is about. yes, i consider myself part of the nocal club and yes, i'am planning on attending all cruises. bob

A: Time will tell.
* Is there a need to keep the N/Cal Board in the SCCOA?
A: Most deffently. People will come, and people will go.
* Are you ( OR DO YOU ) still feel like a ACTIVE member of N/Cal??
A: Yes (and yes).

In the summer I can see myself going to at least 1 cruise. I had a blast at the Vista cruise, and it was amazing to see all the SCs. Right now i'm attending school at Humboldt, so its really tough for me to show up for anything, but i'm still very involved with my SC. Just today i tore apart half of the engine bay for i can fix a 50 cent part. I think having this "Club" is great, especially for summers. Even if we have one good meet, i would consider this a successful club. We managed to pull people away from what they had to do and talk about something we all love to talk about...cars. That one time a year meet makes a large impact on everybody, and its kool if the rest is on the internet. I think we should keep this club going, i always find my way to this forum checking out what is new.

P.S The SC started it all for me, it was my first car i worked on and enjoyed it. Now that i want to learn more about motors i want to spend a significant time with them, so i'm going to be rebuilding/jetting my dad's VF500 sport bike for it can be my first:)

9 responces....hmmm!
Most of them are from the same folks.
I was hoping to fire up afew more folks to see how many Members would reply. I guess I got my answer.
Those that have replied to this post are the ones that I figured would. These are the ones that all make a meet or two all the time.
It's my intent to have a better year this coming summer than the last. But if the interest is going to be the same, than I feel as Mark does and will let this die and move on. This of course is not my intent, but....
There are other members in the N/Cal group. I take it there is no responce from you folks?????
