I was driving the SC home from work today and noticed as I got up to freeway speed, that I could rev the engine and not go anywhere! Yep, the tranny is fried. When I finally got home (after a long sloooow trip) I checked the fluid and TV cable and everything looks OK. Probably the OD band is gone. After 208,000 miles without breaking, I guess that's pretty good. Still this is going to hurt the old wallet...

I guess this means I'll be taking the Subaru next Wednesday and watching the racing from the grandstands.

I drove my 35th for about a year with no O/D before I had it rebuilt.

Problem is I have 3.55 gears, and so my freeway speed in 3rd is about 55 mph max before the rpm starts getting a little high for continuous use. If I didn't live 120 miles from the track, it wouldn't be a problem...
