Hey guys

We've just heard back from the people who are the Canadian distributors for Leatherique products. They have some excellent products for restoring, cleaning, and protecting leather surfaces. Steve Nicholson just picked some up and indicated it works well, and a few people from SCCoA who are detailing fanatics swear by these products as the best stuff out there. It is more expensive than the products you would usually see at auto parts stores, but in this case you do get what you pay for.

So we will get a 10% discount on our orders, and also an extra 8 oz. bottle of the 'Pristine Clean' as a gift too.

Here is the website with pricing and info :

http://www.leatheriquecanada.ca/

Their e-mail address is :

leatheriqueca@aol.com

Address is :

P.O. Box 14063, 2408 Lake Shore Blvd. West
Toronto, Ontario
M8V 1G0

Contact numbers :

Tel: 905 271-6369
Fax: 416 251-6365

You will need to tell the person at Leatherique who you are in contact with that you are a member of SCCoO to receive the 10% discount and gift.

I plan on ordering some of their Rejuvenator Oil to restore the seats on my 95, which have been neglected by me over the last few years. This is apparently one of the only products out there that will really restore and soften old leather that has become brittle and hard. I encourage everyone in the club to take advantage of this offer. We'll leave this stuck to the top for 3 or 4 days so that everyone gets a chance to see.

Guys, just to clarify, I'm not arranging a group order for any of the Leatherique products ... I have simply made the arrangements for the club members to receive the 10% discount. You will need to call or e-mail them yourselves to place an order.

Hard to tell from the web site if it does work or not. Maybe Steve Nicholson could add what he had purchased, used, and possibly a few pics. That would make it easier, I think.

Ryan, here is a copy and paste from a thread in the members only section that was transferred over from the old TBSCEC forum. This is from "onequiksc" down in Florida, I forget his name.

Having had to field this question in various different car BBB forums over the past few years, and being a pro detailer as well, I can say with a fair amount of certainty your best bet (given your current needs) is that you look into Leatherique;

Specifically you need to look at their 'Rejuvenator Oil' and 'Pristine Clean'.

They aren't cheap, but they are worth it. There really isn't anything on your local Pep Boy's shelves that compares.

Yep, they are $$$, but in this case you do get what you pay for. From personal experience to anectdotal evidence of many people in the last few years, -after trying to soften old leather with nearly every product on the market, almost every single person that's tried their rejuvenator oil has held it in high regard compared to their competition. It did what everything else couldn't.

Few areas of detailing can speak to 1 product being far superior than the rest, it just usually ISN'T the case, but in the area of softening and caring for old leather, Leatherique really does have an edge.

Ed I know who you mean, Dan, but I can't remeber his last name. That was in the area of what I was looking for. We don't have memebership #'s for being SCCoO'ers do we? So we just have to tell them we are from the SCCoO, thats it?

Thanks for the time you put into this Ed.

We just have to state that we are members of SCCoO to receive the 10% discount. Which is a better deal than the our American friends, they have to be paid SCCoA members to get in on it down there.

I'd like to say thanks to Steve Nicholson for making the initial inquiry and purchase with Leatherique Canada, and passing along their business card to me. All it took from me after that was an e-mail request. Sometimes it's that easy, just ask. The worst they can do is say no. ;)

thx

I can vouch for the rejuvinator oil, great stuff. The gentleman is retired and has the canadian rights for the products. The product is made from animal oils and not man made products that clog up the pores in the leather. The oil works better with heat as the catylist but it worked even in the cold weather, cant wait for the summer to see the results with heat.
