I want to hit the drag strip this spring but would like to invest in a set of slicks. Im going to find 2 stock 16" sc wheels to put slicks on.

Which slicks fit our 16" wheels?

thanks

I'm not aware of any true slicks in sizing to fit our stock wheels, you would have to go down to 15" rims to get those.

However, for the 16" wheels, you can get Mickey Thompson E/T Streets, available in a few 16-inchers now, the most commonly used being 26.0x10.50-16. They also have 11.50 width, really a bit wide for 7" wheels, though some people use them on SCs. Also available now is 27.0x10.50-16, a bit taller if you want to try cut down your effective gear ratio at the track a bit.

B.F. Goodrich has their Drag Radial available in 255-50-16, also commonly used by SC racers.

Nitto also has a 16" drag radial, but it's 245-50-16. So if you want a bit more gearing for the track, it might be a good choice.

friend of mine has M/T DOT approved slicks, they have like one or two tread lines, works well on his 95 sc rims, dont know the exact sizing or where he got em, but if ya want me to find out i could just let me know.

Those would be the E-T Streets ... DOT approved tires with a few grooves to resemble a "tread pattern".;)

haha yea really resemble a tread pattern...i think there is like 2 or 3 very faint lines, and when you turn there is ABSOLUTELY no body roll...haha who needs sidewalls
