anyone recomend a decent sc mechanic in Toronto?
Nick,
Most of the guys here work on their own cars. I have had my car for 2 years and still haven't found a mechanic. I also live in the T.O
Most of the time you can ask the boyz what your problem is, and about 90% of the time they will tell you what it is. Also there are a great bunch of guys that if they have the time will help you out if you need it.
Thanks,
Jeff

Nick the BEST SC mechanics(though none of us are by trade) reside right here in this club. We probaby, no let me rephrase that, collectively we know more than any SC mechanic or Ford dealership in the city on these cars. Now mind you we don't do AOD tranny rebuilds or block tear downs and rebuilds(yet) but anything else is fair game.

An SC mechanic? HAHAHA. They don't exist, and if they say they do better get your cheque book out - LOL!! Taking your SC anywhere will cost you BIG $$$.
What's wrong with your car?

Not much, just an upper ball joint. Just wanted a heads up
on a good mechanic.

Upper ball joints come in a complete upper control arm for the 89 - 97 Birds and Cougars. This is a pretty straightforward replacement for a decent front-end technician.
A good, reasonably priced independent shop I can recommend is Paul Speirs Automotive, on Chauncey Ave. in Etobicoke. 416-236-8261.

I had used him a number of times until I found out he charged me for stuff he did not do
ie replace plugs and wires, hoses, 190 lph fuel pump, convert freon to new specs.
Seems like a nice guy but not very reliable.

That's bad to hear Steve. I haven't dealt with him for a few years, he used to run a straight-up operation. Thanks for the heads-up, I didn't realize that you had work performed on your car at his shop.
thx
