After reading a thread over on the TBU(ThunderBird Underground) it has come to my notice that there is "users only" forum on the SCCoA. I was unaware of this. I'm guessing that this is part of the membership fees? And then only the members have access to this area. Can someone who is a member please shed some ligh on this for me.

Thanks.

Also, who is a member around here, can you tell me what else, if anything comes along with the membership.

Ryan
you need to be a paying member to go on the member only forms. other things that go with it is discounts as well as only members can have avators(sp) there might be some other stuff that I'm not sure of I think there is only a hand full of members over here on the SCCOO this is a list of people I can think of that are members Sean, Ed, Bill, Paul, Steve R and my self.

Ryan, $15 US will get you access to all the "members only" forums, which are the converted TBSCEC tech forums. LOTS of great in-depth info there.

George Davenport will answer questions on this topic with more specifics in the SCCoA website forum :

http://www.sccoa.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=43

Take a look through at the posts in that forum, you'll find answers in there too.

I'd like to encourage as many of the active SCCoO members to sign up for this. Not only will it get you access to these great hard-core tech forums, but it is also a way of paying back the SCCoA for the use of our Ontario chapter forum, which is provided to us at no charge. If it weren't for all of our posts, they probably wouldn't have needed a new server last year !! :p

thx

Ok I figured as much, but why do I have an avatar then? And where are the discounts from? I hope not shops just in the US, that would suck. I have noticed under your avatar, it says "current memeber", is that what you mean about the avatar thing?

How much was the cost of membership? and how long is it for?

Nevermind what I said there, we posted at the same time Ed.:p

Ryan,
I think you might still have the avator because you have been on the board for some time new. I'm sure it's in the works to remove avators of non members

Dave, the people who started up TBSCEC did so mainly because they had issues with the way the SCCoA "club" was being run as profit-making business by Bill Evanoff, continuing where Bill Hull had left off. Also, the amount of repeat questions being posted on SCCoA made for a lot of stuff to wade through on the forums. So now, with George and Duffy at the helm temporarily, until elections are set up in 2004 - 2005, the SCCoA is being transformed into a true non-profit club. The SC community is growing, but it's too small still to be split up, we lose valuable input from knowledgable people otherwise. Ron is trying to set up as many FAQs as possible for newbies to browse through, hopefully cutting down on the "what size tires will fit my stock wheels" and "what gears should I put in my SC" questions. ;)

Glad to see you guys signing up, at $15 USD it's a damn good deal for what you get back out of it. I'll be twisting the arms so to speak of any of the regulars I see on the forums here who don't sign up !! :p

cheers

The newbie questions can be tired some, thats for sure. But we all started somewhere. I guess with the price of the cars now, being as low as they are. Any honda lovin' kid could buy one rice it up,,,and ask stooopid questions about them also.

For $15 it's well worth the money. For the amount of help and advice I have received here, it's good value for your dollar :D

Ok, if you have not signed up yet,,,what are you waiting for?

There are more forums that only memebers have access to. They are forums for detailing, drivetrain, all sorts of cool stuff you would want know to keep your SC/XR7 running and looking well.

Do it guys, its good deal, plus we cant ride for free all the time...

Jason, that may be some of the older posts in the classified section getting deleted ... I haven't been doing anything in the Ontario forum with the old ones.

thx
