Does anyone know where I could get a set of 245/50/17s for a good price. I checked tire rack and they don't have a very big selection.

It's a nice size for our cars, unfortunately there aren't a lot of choices. BFG has their Scorcher T/As, there is also a Pirelli P-Zero that was an OE Jaguar tire a few years ago, and the Dunlop 5000. Those are all pretty decent tires. The Michelin all-season Pilot Sport I don't have any experience with to comment on.

i had a set of the red scorchers bfg b4 245-50-17
got them from NTB and the matched internet pirces--they also took them back 2 weeks later cause I didnt like how that size tire looked on my car! Then I got another special order set of bfg gforce 245-45-17 which I kept and like very much--they hook up much better than the scorchers--

Would 255/50/17s be easier to find. And a better question, would they fit on my car without rubbing. I have a 94 soon to be lowered 1.5".

I have a set of 255/50/17 Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's that I really like. I got them from tire rack at a little over $100 a piece
They look really good for my car not being lowered and they grip well in corners, however I haven't found them to launch well at all.
With your car being lowered soon, that may be an issue cause I don't have much fender gap and mine is the stock height. That may lead to some tire rubbing.
Good luck.
