Well I got my car on the dyno, despite having a broken tranny with no overdrive. I wanted to know the peak torque for ordering my new torque convertor. Anyway I'm not too happy with the results, it was darn near impossible to keep the car from downshifting out of "D", so I couldn't go full throttle until after 4200 rpm. So I don't really know the peak torque, since that would be well below the 4000 rpm range. A/F ratio looks OK at WOT, seems lean at part throttle.

How do you guys with automatics make dyno runs? Maybe my old dead AOD just doesn't shift right, or is there a trick I don't know to keep it from downshifting at WOT in D?

Max power = 269 @ 5080, max torque = ? 318@4120

Rob its that whole

1
1-2-1 for 2
then into 2 for drive

I think thats the way it is..Been awhile since Ive had a non manual valvebody. Chances are though you will be within a few 100 rpm of whatever a converter is listed for a stock SC...So if you get an 1800 stall it might be giving you around 2000 with a semi modified SC motor. Get a lentech VB for the new tranny:O)..Well worth the $$

The "1-D-1 shuffle" doesn't work so well on my old tranny, since it usually takes about a second for it to shift after you tell it to, and it doesn't like to shift manually at WOT. I think many of these issues will be resolved with the new tranny... And I really need to find 30 hp somewhere, I was hoping to hit a nice even 300 or better...

Rob,

Do you want this added to the dyno list?

Let me know,
Ron
