Well i also posted a topic close to this one in the SCCOA Website forum. I really hope George takes it into consideration.

Anyways, lets get down to business. I think this thread will be a good to way get all the opinions/views from all the different aspects of having a "Live SuperCoupe Chat". There is an unlimited amount of positive reasons to have a live chat but im sure there are some negatives also that im not aware of (from an administrative point of view). What do you guys/gals think?

My personal opinion is that this community could benefit greatly from such a great resource such as a live chat. Anything from technical help to just shooting the breeze! I think itd be great!

Great idea. It would be nice to talk to someone direct, instead of posting, waiting, & then responding. Would definatley change the way we use the forums.

Didn't someone make a chat for this site a couple years ago?? (was before they changed from ezboard if I remember right...)
I think it was more of a test setup that never really got used a whole lot...

I think its a good idea (especially for those of us who spend 90% of our free time here.......) if it would stick around this time (I'm like 99% sure I saw a chat off of this site a couple years ago...). I'd be all for it :D

Wayne Ing just set a live chat for the SCCoO gang last week. Works good so far, only issue I can see potentially being a problem with this particular one is that anyone can sign in under any user name ... that could be dangerous !! ;)

I think a live chat for everyone in SCCoA to use would be great.

So would it be different topics like we have now? A lot of good history in these forums. Can we do research for help?

Also on some other forum I noticed a better ability to search. It is dang difficult to find things you know you have read in the past in SCCoA. Especially if it takes multiple words to describe. Or am I doing it wrong?

I think were just focusing on a single Live chat right now. Theres no need for seperate topics. Since it is live interaction there would be no need for seperate topics since you can talk about whatever you want.

Well thats a seperate topic from the above, but understand where your coming from. To relate to that....heres an example-

{ you enter the SCCOA Live Chat
{ theres a few people chatting about whatever
{ your interested in finding the purple sc with chrome 24's , hehe:p
{ so you ask if anyone knows what your talking about
{ Joe Shmoe says hey ive got that site right here!

( again, just an example LOL, no blingin sc's please) ''

hope i kinda helped, im an idiot

I also think it would be a great idea from a couple of different standpoints but really i think that if your having a problem with your car and have it half tore down you don't have to wait to get the answer you could just ask just like pearl95sc said..

I know we tried to have a chat area before. Cannot remember all the reasons that it was not successful. I'll talk to Ron DiPaola and see if our current hosting arrangement can allow for setting up one on a trial basis to guage interest.

http://www.mirc.com That program works well for live chats. I know I use it a good bit for my online gaming and I'm sure I would spend 50% of my time in there if a supercoupe chat room was set up on it. Thats the best I can think of for live chats just figured i would add my input I think a live chat is a great idea.

Setting up an AIM chatroom would be ideal, no?

Just a thought as an alternative. When we get an email that someone posted to a thread we did. What if we get the text of that post? What if we can respond and post by return email?

Belong to a small club that does that. I like it.

It would be really simple to open a room on dalnet...and the program is easy to use. Still no way to keep someone from talking under somebody else's user name, but it would be easy to setup, easy to use, and require no maintenance by the SCCOA admins whatsoever.

i have also heard of Dalnet. Great low maintenence way to get this up and running.

guess we will just have to wait and see if it's possible yet.

{crosses fingers}:D
