The bird should be back up and running within a month or so, with a new Art Carr Extreme AOD and 9.5" non-lockup torque converter. I looked at the Lentech too, but the Extreme AOD is a better tranny- the Lentech is almost $1000 more and doesn't include the mechanical diode and 2" overdrive band like the Extreme AOD.

Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to install it - I don't know if I can get the car far enough off the ground on jackstands to get the tranny underneath...

Sounds like show time!
Your getting a new trick trans to hold up to the power of that Awesome Super Coupe I hope the install all goes well bet you cant waite for test runs ;)

I am getting a trick trans built like the Super Stockers use leave like a 4 speed all the latest goodies want those 10 second time slips!
Getting my stroker motor together for backup going to attack this like a Silver Bullet heading for the target :D

Your 12 second Screemer is waiting for its time to blast into the record books next season is looking good

Heh heh, my SC might be a 12 second screamer going downhill with a stiff tail wind. I think I'll be happy with some 13's. To hit 12's I'd have to get rid of my stock intercooler, get a better cam, and probably some other stuff too. And I think my stock rods might not be too happy with that kind of power level...

I've done the trans swap twice on stands... Forget it!
I've know a shop in Walnut Creek that will do it for like $300 in about three hours flat, on a Saturday. Last time I did it on the ground it took me three days. George Clarke

I found a shop that will do it for $250, so I'm planning to take it there (Sprint Mechanics - this is where they built Kevin's 4.2L stroker SC). The more I think about it, the more happy I am not to have to do the job!
