engine swap

this post might frustrate a few purists, but i am simply curious. has enyone ever swapped a new engine into an sc? i have one with alot of miles and am considering a 5.0, a 4.6 or something else a bit less abrupt in its power delivery.
it is an excellent platform for something else. 4 wheel disc, posi, 5 speed, abs - all in a luxurious automobile. sometimes i wish it was a bit more friendly as an everyday driver.
don't ban me from the site or anything, i am just curious....
