When I did mine, I removed the entire exhaust assembly as a single unit. It's a two person job to wiggle the exhaust around to get it to drop down (after you disconnect all the hangers, mounting points, etc.) Much easier to do on a lift. But depending on your exhaust, you may be able to disconnect it only from say the resonator back, or the cats back... You'll have to get under there and see at what point you can seperate it. Make sure your gas tank is almost empty before you drop it, and it's basically a two person job to drop the gas tank safely as well...
Good luck!
