Thomas A...

Sent you an email but I'll elaborate a little. I located 5 cores but I'm thinkin' there might be a 6th out there. Not havin' a core to send would be an additional 10.00 for a total of 67.00

Limit on the GP can be up to 10 but I'd appreciate it wrapping up soon so I can get finished with another poly project (sorry, it's a secret ;)

Wynn,
Would you accept the core after we receive the new piece? This is something that I'd really like to add to my SC, but it is also my daily driver. I don't mind having to pay the extra $10 and not get anything back...The wife just doesn't want a huge number of parts laying around the house. LOL!

And by the way, I'm seeing an additional pound of boost since installing your IC gaskets. Awesome!

I've updated the info on the main post there. As soon as we get our last guy on the list, we'll go forward with this purchase.

Thomas,
Since I got on the list, I went a head and sent the $$ via paypal. I'm not worried about the $10, I'd just like to help Wynn out by providing a core back to him so he can use it. Thanks for the offer though. I just don't have the room for lots of parts to lay around here, especially if I'm going to be starting my new project this spring/summer ;) .

How soon would you like the money/cores? I'll have to see if I can swap out 2 cores and still have something to drive around. I still would like to buy 2, unless someone else would like one to fill the 10th spot, I don't want to come across as greedy.

Would I be able to send the money, $67(each) plus shipping, then get a $20 rebate after I ship out the cores to you? That may work out best for at this piont.

Thanks for you time on this Wynn & Thomas.

I use a 15mm boxend wrench on the heads of the bolts, just let it lodge up against sumthin' up top.

good luck!

that was a pain in the *** to take the bolts off my car, we used an acetylene torch and it finally broke loose wiht an impact wrench, granted the old rubber went on fire lol but it was the old crappy one anyway.

So I would try an impact wrench and some penetrating spray

I appreciate the business from everyone involved so far but I've been absolutely snowed under like never before. In a sense that's good for the wallet but trying to keep up and keep a good name can be tough when you're a small operation like me. Bear with me though and those that know me will tell you that you won't be disappointed.

The good news...

Some that have really checked out my webpages will know that I deal with Koko and his shop here locally. His main mechanic went on vacation during Thanksgiving and Koko asked me to take his place, worked out great and he asked me to do the same during xmas...now he wants me there "on retainer". The deal he offered me is to move my operation into his shop where I'll have full access & use of all of Koko's equipment/tools. Then when he has a hot job I can knock it out for him and then go back to my SC stuff. He set me up with my own 20' bench (drool) and of course has 3 different welding machines and torch and tons of machine tools etc etc etc on top of that.

This will mean moving my equipment down there which I hope to accomplish over the next few days, then it's gonna be turn and burn. I feel really good about the move and think this will help me bigtime because those that have visited me in person will surely tell you it's a miracle that I've produced the items you've seen so far.

Didn't mean to turn this into a novel but wanted everyone not to fret about getting their parts, I just need a few days to get set up at Kokos and then it'll be a dream come true for me and hopefully more unique parts for fellow SC'ers.

Only hitch in the mix is I used Koko's plasma cutter on a double ic the other day (was gonna open it back up to fine tune a few spots) and I ruined the cores. The new owner has been really patient (as have all of you) so it will be a juggling act between the double and diff mounts (and the manifolds and gaskets etc that are on order).

Last but not least, a big thanks to those that have had patience with me in the past, especially repeat customers, I'm really hopin' this deal with Koko will put me on the SC map to stay.

I just received mine today (09 March). Very nice! Wynn contacted me via email last Friday and said that he got it in the mail that day. Before that I hadn't heard anything from him (and I didn't expect to with his work load). If you haven't heard from him yet, expect to shortly. I read another post of his where he stated that it took about a day to make one of those mounts and he had 7 to make. And that was last week that I saw the post. I'd give him until Friday to contact you before trying to contact him, but that's just me. I'm pretty patient.

Hey, I owe ya one for puttin' the group buy together!

Ryan A Harris
I found where you had sent payment to Thomas, shipping to Canada should've been 18 (not 7). I have one on the bench right now that's packed in the smallest box possible to save on shipping, I'll put your name on it. I gotta head out to Koko's right now, we'll work out the shipping later.

quick35th
As noted in my non-tech post, I ran short on cores. If I can get to Houston on the weekend I'll have some more to rebuild. You wouldn't believe how many took advantage of the cheap core charge (LOL!), it really put my "spare parts department" in a bind, looks like I need to stash as many as I can for in the future. I'll have you one done as soon as I can, I'm about 4-5 cores short.
Did those connectors I gave you come in handy? You get your car runnin'?

DamonSlowpokeBaumann
Yes, the late are not as beefy as the early but I'm not 100% sure whether it matters. I showed the differences with side-by-side comparison pics in a Tech post I did about swapping the one on my '94 5spd. When ya get ready for one, it would really help if you send a core.

Sorry to keep it short, comin' up on 8am here, I really gotta head on down to Koko's. Anyone is welcome to call me there for questions/braggin'/info/tall tales or anything else, be happy to talk with ya.

007_SuperCoupe
04-30-2004, 12:33 PM
I think that Wynn is trying to get some more cores to finish the rest up. I got mine not too long ago and am getting it installed in the next couple weeks. Those cores are not the easiest thing to come by because salvage yards do not keep them. At least the one's around here. Have you tried contacting Wynn directly about your mounts? I would highly recommend that before posting here, just to make sure that he's working on them.

tbird88
05-10-2004, 09:24 PM
Sure am sorry for puttin' anyone in a bind over these, they got to be somewhat easy to do and then my day job caught up with me. I've tried to stick to doing them as the cores arrived or payment arrived, first come first served etc, but they've piled up. I believe the count is around 22-23 mounts done, got plenty to do that didn't go through the group buy, they were customers straight off my webpage and other websites/message boards and as I said above I've done what I can to keep orders in order recieved.

fingers are tired from typing already...
Anyways, I'd sure appreciate any patience that anyone might have left, workin' on one for "Joe" at the moment and next up is a core I came up with on my own for someone else, I'll just hafta see who's up next for that one. Sure wish I woulda required cores no matter what, just didn't think I'd get cleaned out that quick on 'em. For those that sent cores, I appreciate it, it was a big help.

As soon as I get the last few done, looks like 6 or 7, I hope I don't even see a diff mount for a month or three...maybe I can move on to at least half of the new items I've got prototypes of sittin' at Koko's ;)

Again, sure appreciate the slack, don't blame anyone at all if they're upset. I know firsthand how it is about buyin' stuff over the www and gettin' impatient but would like to ask those that are still waiting to just bear with me, I'm lookin' forward to really doing more & more interesting products. Not lookin' to be a flash in the pan, I like these cars too much for that to happen.

thanks,

I spoke with Wynn a week ago and today. He told me that he is having computer problems again. He said he had gotten more mounts done and is sending them out Monday and that he had sent some of the last ones out. It just came up in conversation so I don't know everything about it. You can reach him at the shop on Monday if you need to.

Just found this post and see what kind of a person you are...

You ask on another website if anyone knows of any Super Coupes or parts are for sale and then don't have the patience to understand that someone might not be able to drop everything and run over and take pictures of it.

Then proceed to post again seeing if anyone knew of any and throwing out a comment that went something like

"No imaginary hoods, please" Nice comment to leave for someone that was trying to help you out but couldn't find a time to get some pictures taken of a car that was locked up in the backyard of a guy that was at work when I was off and at work when I was off since we worked at the SAME place on OPPOSITE shifts.

I thought you were cool buying the stuff from me on eBay and then driving to Austin to pick it up, but now when I needed some information or parts you seem to ignore my PM's, posts, and emails.

Sorry I couldn't take a day off from work and run over and take those pictures for you, but when you're busy, you're busy...

Now that I have spoken my piece, I realize that everone is going to automatically jump on your side and that's ok too... They don't have a clue what I am referring to.

All and all, I hope we can start over as I have some things you might be interested in as far as expanding one of your product lines...

Yours is up next (today). I shipped out 3 last week, 1 earlier this week. There's 2 at the shop (SH & DW) that are done & 1 of those (SH) is ready to ship, the other (DW) will be ready later today. Kinda glad these have slowed down in sales, they are the biggest hassle to do. Hope it dwindles down to one or two a month. I'm sure you'll like yours when you recieve it.

Let's see...
on Jan 15th you say you'll have info very soon,
I reply a week or so later askin' for an update,
I bump the thread twice during the following months,
on June 25th I post and hurt your feelings,

'bird

Like I said in my post... I was hoping we could start over... You were the one ignoring my PM's and emails about stuff for me. The stuff to do with that car was not really my deal and it was hard to get a hold of that guy whom kept changing his mind on me about selling it so I kind of forgot about it. Not to mention my mountain of personal problems that year such as passively and sometimes aggressively trying to either kill myself or get myself killed. That is my fault and it is also over and done with.

As far as trying to "sell" a car in your ad, I was actually hoping you would drag a trailer down here and buy this one from me as I finally talked him into selling me the 306 in that S/C. He said I could only have the engine if I bought the whole car from him... so I did.

As far as the other stuff I have been trying to get with you about was for me and not a third party sort of deal... I was wondering if you would consider filling some mounts for me for my 2003.5 turbocharged Mazdaspeed Protege? I would supply a set of mounts and pay you shipping both ways, etc. If you are open to this idea I am REALLY hoping to work with you on this as there are LOTS of people buying similar products on the web also and of course there are many that are wanting more options of places from where to buy them from. I was also wondering if you had different compounds of Poly to choose from so I could tailor the mounts to certain specs or not.

PLEASE accept my apologies from the previous post and give me a Texas size second chance!

Sincerely,

Jason M. James (Jason94Cobra)

Thanks Wynn for clearing that up for me. I didn't want to come off sounding mean or anything. I was just a little worried.

Thanks!
Shane
Your mount is goin' out tomorrow via FedEx, I'll email you through your member page with a tracking #.

Now let's see...I'm pretty sure I'm down to "J.C.", "C.I.", and my buddy out in Hawaii. Who am I forgettin'?
