I have seen many of you guys say that you need new head bolts when you change out the head gaskets.... why? What would happen if I would just reuse the old bolts?

Can some of you guys that have changed your HG's please explain the reasoning into using newhead bolts.

Thank you Guys!!

They are what you call torq to yield bolts and will stretch. I know if you re use them you will be doing head gaskets real soon again.
Im going with studs this time. They dont need to be replaced each time and the torq down on the heads is alot easer when you assemble.

Besides ARP head Bolts, what other brands are good to use say from Autozone, Fishers, pep boys, Advanced auto, or Napa? just that arp Bolts for 125 bucks seem to me a little expensive. How many bolts are in each head... 6 to 8? 15 to 20 bucks a bolt... seems high!! maybe its just me but damn!
