Hoping everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas. Remember Jesus is the reason for the season.

Now, I have this dilemma. Do I install the 3.27's I have sitting in the building now and hope the shop can have them installed quickly so I can put the center section back in the car before I have to go back to work. The shop wants $150 if I bring them the center section or $250 if I just take the car up, so I don't see the extra $100 difference that I can't remove it myself.

OR

Do I see if I can find a '99 Cobra center and just bolt it right up. Some one earlier this month on here said they purchased one off Ebay for around $200.

Hmmm what's a person to do?

Well, if you can find one already assembled, ready to go for $200....that would sound like the better option to me. Aren't the ones from the Cobra aluminum also? That would be a bit of a plus...shed a few pounds. Just make sure that you're getting one in good shape, and remember that freight on that could get a little pricey.

As far as paying the shop to do it....if it only costs $100 more to have them remove and reinstall the center section...I'd have 'em do it. It's probably a 3-4 hour job to do it in the driveway (at least). Not to mention having to lift that heavy mother and the axles as well. I've done it several times in the driveway, and it's a pain. But I figured most shops will charge a lot more than $100 for R&R.

And remember, if you do not use the 3.27s, you can always sell them on Ebay!
