Oil cooler/Filter housing

How does this come apart? I have these round o-rings in my gasket kit and I'm thinking it's for where the cooler seperates from where you spin the oil filter on. There seems to be a nut at the base of the threads where the filter goes. Will it come apart by taking this nut off?

I would have to say yes on that. When I did my motor mounts on my '94 after I bought it, I noticed my oil cooler was loose and so was the nut. I tightened the but up and the cooler wasn't loose anymore.

Yes you can unscrew that nut looking thing and the oil cooler will come off the filter mount.

Got a Dodge Mini Van with HD 3.8 and it has the cooler. I have to get a new o-ring and bolt torqued to spec before Kwik Lube will change oil again. The whole thing falls off when filter is removed. Real mess.

Never had a problem with the SC.
