I likee the prototype version better, it sits too tall, and isn't wide enough. They just got retro on the current frame. How much is the $ on the 300hp version anyway.

According to an article in this month's Car and Driver, the prices won't change much from last year. The 300 hp version should run about $30k.
The thing I don't really like: no IRS. It's supposed to be a better setup than the old Mustang live rear, but I don't really agree with the decision. The SVT version due out in 2005 should go back to an independent rear, though.
According to the article, they went without an idependent suspension: "mainly to keep down costs... It's also partly because the majority of Mustang owners don't know or care what kind of rear suspension they have and partly to serve street racers and quarter-milers who love a live axle's simplicity and cheap interchangeability."
Not being a drag racer, I guess I don't fit that category....

There will not be any SVT vehicles in '05. I like the looks of the V6 a bit more than the GT, but we'll have to see. A black one would be beautiful.

IMO they fixed everything that was wrong with the concept in the production car. In C and D too they showed a sweet shot of the gauge faces, saying that this will be the first car ever to get adjustable lighting for the gauges. Don't like green? Change to blue...it's about time somebody figured that one out. Also like the rear quarter glass and the intake on the engine - it's built for ram air hoods. Not too crazy about the upholstery though, looks like late eighties fox mustang....

the gauge thing always made me think to, I mean you can do that with a lot of radios, but I suppose it's easier to change an led display than analog needles though...

I love it, while not as nice as the prototype, it still resembles it very well. The seats are a little basic looking but then again, this isn't quite aimed at being a luxury car. But for only 33 grand you can get the GTO with 350 hp. A little more skimpy on the interior though......especially the back seats. Typical GM/Fisher- Price interior.

but fugly exterior...I'd gladly trade the corvette engine for a sweet half retro style that's actually done quite well. The GTO just looks too much like a chevy cavalier.
