Well guys...I will try to be at the track, but I definitely won't be able to race. My son-in-law, Oscar, will probably pick up the slack for me. I slipped on some wet tile in my bathroom and fell and broke my right leg. I can only imagine how I would look pedalling my SC down the track with my leg in this cast...
It's probably for the best anyway as it will save my motor for the Nor-Call/So-Cal Shoot-Out.
Al....I believe MannySc volunteered to bring his code reader and let us all plug-in and start getting our cars dialed-in.
Manny...can you still make the 21st?
This is a great opportunity for our club to get together and plan the other activities for the year. So let's all try to get out there and get it together.

Sorry to hear about your leg, but glad you'll still be able to make it.
I agree, it would be a good opportunity for many of us to finally meet each other; and make some more plans.

LOL!!!! Nice Circular saw trick! Do you do that at parties too?! http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/party.gif
Just thinking....don't you believe the cast would help? I mean you want a heavy foot when drag racing! LOL

It looks we are going to have a good size group at the track on the 21st!
Everyone bring your PA's and calendars and we can do some event planning for the summer and fall for the Southern Chapter.
Hope to see a good turnout.

Al...
I don't think there is a back-up plan for the rain. I won't be racing anyway. I think it is going to be a beautiful day!
We may come down in my son-in-law's Lincoln. More leg room for my camo colored cast.
The cost to get in is almost nothing...the strip is outstanding...you can race as much as you could possibly want...great company...a chance to plan for the rest of the summer and fall...and get our cars ready for the August Smackdown! Sounds like a great plan!!!!!!!!!!!!

Al...I have a spiral fracture of the fibula about three inches above the ankle and a non-displaced fracture of the tibia about two inches from the top. It was ugly man!
It will be easy to find the racing spot (in the south area). The tech inspection is set-up at the entry and you will be able to see all the cars "pitted" straight ahead. Whoever gets there first will look for the others coming through the gate. John Shelton will more than likely be first as he lives close by. Just look for a righteous Black SC with Hoosier slicks and that is John Shelton. It is so awesome to see him throw the smackdown on those Mustang Cobras! He is bad!
See you there.
MannySC....you offered the code reader for the next meet. Are you going to be there for sure?

in case we need a place to leave our jacks and spare tires and other articles where do the cars park? the ones who aren't running???

Usually you leave your toolboxes and other stuff right where you were parked before the run ...in the pits. Usually, your partners are sitting around while you go make a pass and everyone watches each others stuff. My kids will usually be around in the event that everyone is making a run at the same time. Since I'm not racing I will "always" be in the pits and able to watch the stuff. I may just bring a wheelchair and make a few runs in that and work on the "11" second reaction time.

AL...
My son-in-law took some nice MPEG the last time we were there. One was of me running John Shelton. Shelton did a wheelie almost the whole way down the track until he hit his parachute to start braking.
My wheelchair is powered by armstrong.

Al...Haven't dwonloaded the pics. I'm pulling your leg about Shelton doing the wheelstand. He does lay the smackdown on all the Cobras however.
I head pretty even with Shelton for the first five feet. I lost a little time looking down to see if I had the emergency brake on and then I couldn't see much after the first 1.5 seconds as Shelton's jet wash almost tipped me over.
