It seems like you can get a clean mustang fast back or 2+2 pre1971 for much less than a camaro or some of the other muscle cars. Why is that. The late 60's stangs are really interesting me alot.

just curious i guess

The main reason for lower prices on the early stangs are production numbers. From 64 to 70 ford produced (and sold) more mustangs than the Chevy and Dodge muscle cars combined.

While I don't have any real data to back it up it just seems that the 65-68 prices have fallen quite a bit, while the 69-73's have increased significantly. Especially the top performance versions.

It also seems that the Camaros were always more expensive than the Mustangs.

i personally am a big bow-tie guy when it comes to musclecars. But lately the 64+ mustangs have grabbed my attention. I love th look of the shelby mustangs and have seen some nice clones done.

when i was about 12 i was going door to door as a boy scout selling popcorn or something, not sure what but i stopped at this little old lady (from pasadena?)'s house and in her garage sat a mint condition 1967-68 mustang GT500 CONVERTIBLE!! i asked her about it, it was her late husbands and he died in the 70s and she kept it, it had 20k original miles and looked mint.she said she would consider selling it if someone offered her "about $50k" at the time i thought maybe she was nuts, but looking back, i bet that car was worth every penny of $50,000.

ironically, dan holleran told me he has detailed a blue 68 gt500 vert that was low mileage and supposedly the guy bought it from up north in indiana or thereabouts and restored it, it wouldnt suprise me if it was teh same car, dan said the guy had repainted it from white to blue so who knows.
