If anyone that is going to the show has one please bring it. All of a sudden my car is running rough. First it started hard, then idled rough as soon as it started. On the way to where I was going it started to idle high then go to normal idle speed, but idle was still rough. On the way back home no more high idle but rough and the check enging light would come on sometimes. Now it's idleing real low almost stalling. Also, it's running slightly hotter than usual, not hot at all though. It still starts and runs and I'm real close to Silver Springs so I still plan on going.
See ya'll tomorrow,

Kurt

Hey Kurt,
I had similar problems a while back and i replaced my cam sensor and have not had that hard start or the pulsing rpms. The hard starting was like the engine had no compression and turned really fast but had no spark then when I'd try to start it again it would act as if I had a dying battery and the lights would dim then the next time it would start regular but had the rough idle and the check eng light and most of the time died soon after starting. And after I did have the car running and driving i would sometimes have a "pulsing" of the RPMs in a range of 300 rpm at all throttle positions. If this is what you are experiencing I would suspect the cam sensor of beieng bad, I replaced mine and have not had this problem since. the sensor was something like $27.00 at AutoZone just to give you an idea of what to expect to pay for one. Mine was drenched with blower fluid when I took mine off, complements of my leaky snout seal and I believe this is what ultimately killed it, if anything pop yours off and give it a visual to see if there is any obvious signs of disaster.
Unfortunately I won't be attending the Silver Springs meet this weekend but hope you might be able to figure it out with the code scanner. Hope everyone has a safe trip out there and make sure you guys take plenty of pictures to post on the website!
SC Ya,
Greg Roll

P.S. One day i'll make it to a meet!

Hi Kurt, We looked for you at the car show, stayed a little while looking for anybody. It was a cold day in Ocala. I had a simmilar problem. It also turned out to be the cam sensor. You may also want to check DIS we had some problems just like Greg it was a bad cam sensor and the Dis.Check these numbers on your DIS See if you have these numbers on it. E9DF-12A297-BA If you have a DIS that has no numbers on them similar to these it could possibly be the DIS going bad. We were also getting Check engine light coming on, So we had three other cam sensors. Some of them, where that triangle on the cap in some of them are some protrude and some sink down. I am not to far from you If you are not going to the show tomorrow you can stop by? And we could check her out. Also our timing was off but finally got her running properly. I will call you tonight. I have the sensor caps here if we need to adjust anything and also have a couple of DIS. Call us tonight or we will call you. All the Best Victor and Diane Spinningwheels-SC Hey Greg the engine is waiting for ya! Hope we can assist. We brought a cople of dozen SC caps to give out but finally left. the show was a little confussing!
