Someone posted a similar question about florida, and it made my start thinking....are front plates required in California? Right now I'm able to put the plate in my window and I don't get harassed by the cops here in Texas.....

Yupe! They must be displayed.
Not having the license plate on the front is one of the vioations that you can count on getting stopped for and ticketed. The reason, I'm told, is that several municipalities have intersections that have cameras that are used to give tickets based upon the surveillance photos of your car (using the plates for ID).

put it on have a cop sign that its on and its over. send it in mail no fine say it fell of and you where in a hurry to get to work keep it in trunk.

Argh! I just got a ticket for not having a plate on the front... And the damn thing was parked! These parking Nazi's in BH are ruthless!
