Vaccum side of gauge stuck at 17 - help

The "check engine" light came on in my 94 SC (auto). I took it in to friends shop to check the code. He said it was a bad EGR valve or sensor. I havent done anything to it yet but on the way home I noticed that my vac/boost gauge is stuck at about 17 on the vaccum side. It stays there whether the car is running or not. I accelerate and hear the supercharger whine a but like it usually does but no movement.

Thoughts?

Check your bypass valve. The line might be off or broke. If the bypass vale stays open that keep the boost from rising. But I would think it would still move some. Maybe a guage problem.

OK - I unhooked the hose at the engine side and exhaled and inhaled into it - works fine now. I'm going to post a new thread on the codes.

Thanks
