to paint or not to paint... that is the question?

hey man... can someone tell me the materials ima need to paint the bottom of the car... basicall from the BLACK LINE ACROSS the door to the bottom. i want it 2 tone. what kind of sand paper and all the other fixings.. thanx

What is the color of the car? When sanding just use a 3m red scuff pad. sand the paint until there is no more shiney spots.If there is rust you will have to replace the part! rust always comes back if you don't replace it.Do you plan on doing this your self or are you bring it to a shop?If it was my car i would bring it to a shop.I work at a body shop in minnesota.If you need more help, just write back.

well i rather do it my self to get experience on it. but my neighbor does body work so he might lend me a hand. i just need to know what grits to start off with and basically what else u know. i wanna have it primed up for now and then paint it like a BLACK or BLUE or something. the ORIGINAL color is white...
