anyone running a mark 8 torque converter

OEM vs. OEM

Why would one OEM torque converter, be better than another OEM torque converter, BOTH of which are of UNKNOWN specs.?

You'd be better off buying one from a company that builds TC's.

Oh, Yeah, & DON'T believe the stall speed listed on the box. One factor of stall speed, is the weight of your car. If the stall speed is listed for a light weight Mustang, & you're putting it in a T-bird, the stall speed will be different.

I had one in my '97 Sport. It made my track times a lot more consistant, but overall I didn't pick up any time difference. They are a much better TC overall, but they aren't a huge performance mod. I've heard of some guys seeing .5 second drops, but myself, my brother, and another guy all did it and didn't see much as far as results. If you need to replace your OE one, it is a much better choice then the stock T-bird one as a replacement.
