5 spd trouble

got 135k on my 89sc 2nd,and 3rd gear are starting to hang up when i shift. if i catch it at the right RPM it seems OK.

Is it just the SYNCHRO's?

can the tranny be repaired/rebuilt or is a replacement the way to go.

Tryin to decide what to do before i give in and buy a new car.
i really ove the way these things drive?

You have several options. Rebuilds are available from Southern Gear for about $550+shipping. You can get a rebuild kit for about $300 and do it yourself. Or you can just repair the bad syncros and put new seals in for about $150. I usually go for option 3.

Dave, where can I buy a rebuild kit as you described? or just synchro`s and blocker rings?

Call Southern Gear for prices on parts or kits.

You can also still get most parts from Ford. They are better quality but you have to know what you want and some parts are discontinued. Also more expensive.
