We'll be getting our tax refund soon and I want to put some rear window louvers on my 91 SC. Does anyone else have louvers or want louvers? Got any opinions about how they would look on an SC? Good or Bad?

They look good on a Thunderbird-have you seen the movie "Jade"? There's a black Bird on there with louvers

In my opinion, they look absolutely aweful, and are quite possibly the fastest way to make and SC look like total crap. But to each thier own.

Hey Thomas,
It's not the louvers that make that bird look like crap, it's the paint job.

I've thought about louvers that were blasted and powdercoated to match the body color

That car may look that way without them???? Who's SC is that anyway?? If I don't get the louvers, I'm thinking about getting a B&M Quicksilver as they'll both cost about the same after all is said and done. And the shifter will look GOOD.

the most I'd put back there on the window is a solar wing from GTS. Louvers just don't look right.

Anyone for a hatch back?:D
JK do what you want man. I would say metal always looks better than the plastic if your going to do it. My .02

I'd say a spoiler adds the right hint of style to the rear portion of a SC. The louver may be too much for my taste. But that's just my taste.

Lovers? Welcome back to the 80s, man. lol
As for spoilers, some people sell a NASCAR style rear blade. Looks very nice and understated.
On a '69 Mach 1, yes.
They don't look bad, just outdated and out of place on a '90's car. Interrupts the smooth lines of the car.

I'll put louvers on before I install a Solarwing-the solarwing looks like a wanna-be Focus wing to me.

The BOSS 302 was the first car to use louvers! Designed by the late Larry Shinoda.
Over the years I've seen many kinds of louvers. The plastic ones are the worst looking & will sag from heat. The alum. ones are the best, but cost a LOT more. You will want alum. ones that don't bend easily, so check the thickness of the alum. If you can find thicker ones, go with them.

The ones I was looking at are plastic. They are a kinda retro item, but I thought they would be good for keeping some of the sunlight off the rear deck and tops of the back seats as I have seen those damaged because of excess sun. Maybe some tint instead and that quicksilver. I already have a spoiler as seen in pic below.
Thanks for the input.
David PS, my son playing with the computer drew the squigly lines around it, hehehe.

Screw what everybody else says. I wanted to get some because I don't like wondow tint od the rear window, I have enough trouble backing up at night anyway.
Do what you like, no one else here is paying your bills are they?

Jeff,
The plastic ones I found were around $250 after shipping, it will be right at $300. No telling how much the aluminum ones would cost if they were available. I'll keep looking. I too am not crazy about tinting the back window. I still think they would look really good on there though and not like the silver one above that Thomas posted.
