Has anyone installed a good aftermarket keyless entry system in there car? I want something with good range and also be able to pop the trunk. I'm not really interested in an alarm or remote starter, just keyless. Right now I have a keyless system I bought at Advanced Auto and the range is about 2 feet at best. I saw some others around town that were mabe by Bulldog, but I didn't want to take the chance. Thanks in advance for any ideas!!!

I put Vipor alarms on all my birds. Get the base system about $99 dollars and you will have every thing you need. Do it yourself and save a ton of cash. The only hard part is the wire hook up to the power door locks but its just a matter of cutting 2 wires and splicing in the alarm wires. The after market keyless entry systems are kind of cheap and you get what you pay for.

I've got a hornet alarm installed on my car. It has good range (at least 100+ feet) and includes trunk release and keyless entry. Not sure exactly how much it cost because the girl who owned it before me had it installed. I would definitely check out the cheap alarm systems because they seem to work pretty well.

Have you tried to replace the battery in your Key Fob? When the batteries get weak, the range decreases.

Just a keyless entry will run you about $35. I install Crimestopper alarms, been a dealer for about 9 years. There CS-2011 runs about $89 and has remote start, as well as full alarm functions. There easy to install a basic keyless entry will probably take a first timer about an hour. I do one in about 15 min.
If you need the conection points and locations let me know.

I've got the basic Audiovox keyless entry/alarm on my T-bird. Works good and has the trunk release functon as well($20 extra to hook it up) I paid to have it installed even though I could probably do it myself. Was just more peace of mind knowing it was done right and if I had any problems, I could take it back and get it looked at for free. Only gripe I have about it, is that for the trunk release, you have to hold down the button for 3 seconds(or so the manual says) and then it will pop. Sometimes it takes longer than 3 seconds. I would have much rather it been just an instant thing like the door locks, but beggers can't be choosers.

I've had a Viper on my SC for about 3 years and it works fine.

I would hate an instant trunk button. I would always think I was walking away with the trunk open by inadvertantly hitting the button.
I have a bulldog in my bronco for the auto start and I love it, sometimes it gets confused but it comes around and the range is excellent at like 300 ft or more.
Im looking to buy one for my SC and will probably go for the bulldog again.

The button on mine for truck release can't be confused for the one to unlock the doors. Just kinda gets irritating when you have your hands full and you have to wait on the truck to open.
