ok if you guys read the post i made a lil while ago about the clevite 77 main bearings and how the notch on the thrust bearing does not align with the one on the cap, heres some more...

i bought another set from autozone and in this box i found a lil piece of paper. on this it states that these bearings are not designed for the 94-95 engine but may be used.

If you have a 94-95 you must machine the cap to accept the new bearings. basically you must take the grove and extend it roughly 1mm rearward on the cap.

this is required on caps 1, 2, and 3. otherwise the bearings will not align and it will cause the crank to bind and not turn when rotated!

I have been using those Clevites from Auto Zone in my motor for about 8k miles and i just tore it apart for a cam swap. All bearings are fine. The one bearing that has the notch i remember i just used a cut off wheel to extend the groove on the main cap. I can tell you the crank did not bind at all when i installed mine.
