Who has a tivo and how many hours does your hold.

I have a Tivo like device. I have Dish Network satellite and have their first generation DVR device (DVR is a generic term for Tivo like devices). Mine is supposed to hold 20 hours of video with it's internal 20gb hard drive.

There are newer ones with bigger drives that can hold up to 100 hours and a new unit that can record up to 25hours of HDTV, or 180 hours of SD video.

I love having it. I don't get home from work until late quite a bit. With the 30 second skip feature I can go a whole week without seeing a single commercial.

The Tivo's are fancier as they have some proprietary software that is quite smart and supports lots of features not available in any other box.

Check out www.weaknees.com you can upgrade your hard drive or add a second drive. I just got a 40 hour Tivo series 2 and I ordered a 145hr second hard drive kit for it. So i will have 185 hours of recording time and around 90 hours of full quality recording time. Check it out.

Mine is a 35 or 40 hr. job that has my Direct TV receiver built into it.
