My NEW engine just took a crap after 100 miles. I re-used my pistons and rods, and with a nice new fresh top end the rods gave out.
SOOOoo.....I'm going to replace with Forged pistons and some H-Beam rods. I never drive in the cold, and I'm planning some nice adders.
I need some info where to buy - I know summit doesn't have pistons. I've searched through some threads....and there's no definitive information on piston dish requirements (vs. Rod Length) - if I used a 351w H-beam rod, what piston dimensions do I need to stay near stock compression? All I've seen is some statements such as "such and such did my motor" - but I need to know the numbers...or at least exact vendor part numbers. And the best places to buy them.
